It really simplified everything. The forgetting phase has always made reading and consuming articles quite tedious. This is a fantastic app to counteract that. No other app does this. It syncs to a wealth of other apps like Kindle, Notion, Apple Books, etc. Worth every penny
Worthless
Can not save a tweet/thread or whatever. Completely useless.
Actually learn what you read
I’m not exaggerating when I say this app changed how I read. I remember more of what I read, I learn more, and I take more notes.
Not just on kindle either. But in paper books as well, which is magical.
This is the best investment I’ve made for a long time. Try it.
Thank you
I have been exporting my highlights into Google in order to use their LM. But it has always been glitchy and problematic . Your new AI research feature is a game changer for me as an academic researcher. Thank you, Readwise!!
Nothing else like it
The service this app provides is unmatched, I’ve looked. I read a ton of books and love to highlight my fav parts and find such joy in reading random highlights every day, chosen for me by the app. My only major complaint is that I doesn’t sync with Libby, my library app. So I have to read my books in Kindle if I want to use this app to its fullest. If they added Libby I’d be set for life!
Was amazing but doesn’t work anymore
I’ve used the Readwise app on my iPad for about a year. It seems like every update breaks the app and I have to go through a process to update the app and re-synch my Amazon books with the app. Since the last update, everything stopped working, and even though I’m trying to synchronize Amazon with the app, it’s not working. I tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling, and that didn’t fix the problem. So I feel like they stole from me, because I paid for a working product that suddenly stopped working for no reason. I’m going to cancel my subscription, which is a shame because when it worked, it was incredibly helpful.
Such a great app!
Love this app! Been using it for a few years and love how it helps me to review my highlights from books I’ve read. I was putting highlights in Google doc only to be forever forgotten but no more. Sometimes the highlights hit in the perfect moment of whatever I’m going through in life.
Best App Hands Down
Not only does this app serve as an incredible tool for retaining and revisiting insights—it is constantly being updated and improved, bringing new features to transform your interaction. It’s an excellent antidote to continuously scrolling social media—providing a continuous scroll of actual insights and ideas you have highlighted. Recent features take it even further: the ability to ask questions of your highlights helps surface insights and connections across your reading. And now, the Daily Review has been super-charged with an audio version that is so thoughtfully built you’ll find it a friendly and insightful way to begin the day. It’s like listening to a morning podcast made up of hand-selected meaningful facts and passages. This one app has found a way to lift all of the knowledge, perspective, and wisdom from books and infuse them into the digital mediums we swim in every day. How lucky we are to be in a time when the great writers, researchers, and practitioners throughout history can be encountered in a digital scroll on the phone, a penetrating search at the desk, or on a morning commute. Thank you to the team that keeps this app—and the books we read—not only alive, but thriving.
Seems Limited
I added my first book which was recognized, but then added another which was not, which is fine, but I was not able to add my new book and I could not figure out how to get past that screen to make my own notes.
Indispensable
So often, I would read a book, only to never review what I highlighted and found so important. I’ve used Readwise for nearly a year and it has changed how I read and helped me grow into a new human. Imagine finding a profound nugget of wisdom and being reminded of it when you nearly forget, or learning what topics you find most useful. This app has become one of the most useful and indispensable pieces of learning in my arsenal.
