ACTUALLY USE YOUR HIGHLIGHTS
Highlighting is great, but why bother if you're never going to see any of your highlights again? Readwise makes it easy to quickly liberate all your highlights into one place, ensuring that you'll actually see and use them, including highlights from:
• Amazon Kindle
• Apple iBooks
• Instapaper
• Pocket
• Medium
• Goodreads
• Twitter
• Physical Books (using OCR)
• Manual Input
• CSV Upload

STOP FORGETTING WHAT YOU READ
How often do you finish a book, only to forget the key ideas two weeks later? We don't remember things by just reading them once.
Readwise solves this problem using scientifically proven learning techniques called Spaced Repetition and Active Recall. Readwise resurfaces the right highlights at the right times using a daily email and an app. Readwise even makes it possible to convert your best highlights into flashcards for added retention.

TAG, NOTE, SEARCH, AND ORGANIZE
With your highlights all in one place, Readwise enables you to organize and connect these ideas in new ways. Use search to find a highlight instantly; use tag to organize highlights within your library; use notes to add your own annotations.

HIGHLIGHT PAPER BOOKS
Readwise also makes it possible to take highlights from your physical books and papers using your phone’s camera. Just snap a pic, highlight with your finger, and have your favorite highlights saved forever.

Readwise Reviews

So wonderfully useful

This app is useful out of the box if you have highlights in Kindle or reading pops but it becomes increasingly valuable over time, as you combine it with other apps that you read with and scan in text from books and other physical media. I start my day by reading highlights serves up. Does it make sense to you when you were also love the company’s reader app. But start here.

Transformed the way I read

Readwise has made my reading so much more rewarding so I end up reading a lot more. I am super appreciative of Readwise. Strongly recommend.

Could be a really good app if it wasn’t so terribly designed

Really clunky experience makes it unpleasant to use

Good but far too expensive

For occasional users, or people like me who simply can’t work due to disability but who want to read things to keep their minds active and who want to remember what they read, the cost of the app is far too expensive. Paying £20 upfront for life would be a better model rather than 100 every single year. The more you would depend on it the more you would end up having to pay to keep using it.

Too features but could do with an overhaul

Readwise works more effectively at managing highlights and making then accessible than all the other apps I have tried. Very importantly, it works effectively for paper books, including OCR capability for Greek (which other apps that rely only on Apple’s live text) fail at. What is jarring is the user interface and speed. If it got a native rewrite and redesign for iOS (and iPadOS) I am sure many existing customers would be delighted, and it would probably attract just as many new ones.

Good, but some key updates needed to be great

Hi, I like the apo, but what refinitely needs to be sorted is whenever you're liking quotes and lock your phone/screen goes blank, you start from the top of the books quotes again. This is extremely annoying as I like to highlight all a books quotes during gym, and if im on say quote 400, i have to scroll all the way from the top each time my phone screen locks. Please sort this so that the app keeps track of where I last was

Amazing.

I love it.

5/5 service, 3/5 app

SimpleScholar on

United Kingdom

Great service, slightly janky app – gets the job done but it’s clearly not native to the platform. Pop-ups can be in the wrong place (for example, when revisiting daily reviews from earlier in the week), quotes can be difficult to edit when the text selection tool takes a few tries to work. But as far as the core functionality goes, Readwise has no peers.

Great app!

Perfect app for organizing all readings. Give options to connect more apps like apple notes, evernotes etc.

Very good

Fairway8 on

This is based on the Lite version. It’s an excellent app really helpful to remember important highlights all in one place. The only downside is I decided I wanted the full version but in order to do that you have to cancel the lite version then re open a full version account you can’t simply upgrade.
