RealityScan - 3D Scanning App

While the cloud connection is nice for those with good connections and coverage, there is a whole world out there that could benefit from this kind of technology without constant connectivity. I hope you guys reconsider your approach and make a version 2 that is more flexible for the kind of environment that could really benefit from this tech that is far away from the internet.

Literally the only reason people photo-scan is to be able to export, clean up, and use the model as an asset. Can only export to Sketchfab which is useless because the model is too big. If it can have an export to fbx option, 4-5 star worthy. Results aren’t bad.

Had high expectations after using desktop app Reality Capture. But can’t actually export or get a result from the app atm. Crashes and problems connecting to server repeatedly mean I can only see the potential of a result but not get one. So disappointing atm. Hope it is quickly updated to be usable. Wish I could export all the photos I took and make it on my pc. But can do that and will loose them all if I delete the app and can’t repeat it as was on holiday when took them at a nice location. Please fix asap!

Very basic program with zero thought into what a user might want in additional controls. Uploads all to there cloud. They hold the rights to your images. Illegal scam. It rendered at a slower rate unless you pay a subscription. Models only export to there other app Sketchfab that requires money also. Very limited program targeted at ppl with a flashy video. Warning. Total scam. Get Metacan instead

App is unintuitive, has to constantly resync and connect to the server each time you reopen the app and is by far the slowest of all photogrammetry apps I've tried. The results are also subpar, there's no quality adjustment options and export is a pain. Metascan is by far the best photogrammetry app I've used so far.

It takes some practice to capture an object fully. Making sure to get the odd angles and voids underneath. The quality of the result is great once I got the hang of it.

Complete BS. You need to sign up to Epic Games just to check out the app? Don’t think so.

It’s better than what it was before hand so Epic Games has been fixing the issues with app. I think this app has potential Epic just needs to focus on it.

I signed into my epic account, and it turned to a black screen with a rotating white loading wheel. First, I quit the app, then I reinstalled it, and to my amazement. As soon as I opened, it, goes straight back to the same black screen with a white loading wheel. I haven’t even seen anything inside the app yet.
