This application will get a 5 star rating from me if they make it possible to save the position in an article that you were reading before closing out the app to comeback to it later, if that happens then I can’t flaw it! Well done all.
Please please please…
…continue to support and develop the classic Reeder that has served your loyal customers so well for so long.
For those of us who just want the best RSS reader, this new app is not for us.
Disappointing
Shame to see this replace the brilliant Reeder (now Reeder Classic) as the focus for this talented developer. The idea of putting everything in one place sounds good, but it’s impractical and doesn’t work well in practice. Worse, even as a loyal user of the original app I couldn’t move my data over and had to manually import each news source. Terrible user experience.
Brilliant app
Each updates evolves the concept more, great ideas, brilliant design.
Nearly perfect
I’ve used this app to replace several others. I love it! Only thing that is missing is Feedbin integration or some other way of getting paid newsletters into the app. Hoping this is added soon
Almost there
This is an app that really, seriously needs the ability to swipe to the next post.
And it doesn’t have it you cannot go to the next post. You have to back out and then manually tap it in a list.
For an app that is designed to go through your timeline and read things. It’s just not that good at the job.
There’s no option to prevent videos playing automatically for example, so say goodbye to your mobile data.
There is also no filtering of the timeline it’s just straight chronological. Which means that there is no real easy way to see what is read and unread. So you better hope that you don’t accidentally scroll somewhere and lose your place.
Getting back to Reader 5
- I do not want everything in one feed, I want to see important feeds first;
- I do not want timeline syncing, I just want read counter and read/unread marks;
- I want to see how many unread items I have in each feed/category;
- I do not want huge UI elements that waste my smartphones screen space
I like integration with YouTube, but that’s about it.
Overall, it feels like huge downgrade compared to Reader 5. Definitely doesn’t worth a subscription and probably doesn’t worth a single dollar either.
Thank you
I was looking for something like this in a long time. Amazing app.
Nice idea but doesn’t work
The _idea_ of getting rid of unread counts is cute but it’s not how reading news works. I don’t want everything interleaved into one feed and I want to mark some articles unread. It’s very broken for sites that bulk update their RSS feed and so swamp the timeline, it’s broken for low volume sites that get buried in high volume sites. It’s broken when sites are slow to respond and add data with old timestamps. On top of this the feed management controls aren’t up to the job so I can’t easily work around it.
Good idea but not ready for use
The basic concept - bringing all of your media feeds together in a single app - is great but this is in no way ready for everyday use. The inability to jump to the top of your feed is infuriating, the lack of a tagging (or similar) system is bizarre etc. Stick to Classic and watch for updates : one day this will great but right now, it actually adds hassle.
