Almost but not quite

Podcasts and social feeds are killer additions to Reeder but without the ability to mark items as read it falls flat. Please consider adding these to Reeder 6.

I like it, but can’t yet leave Inoreader

As a long time Reeder user, I like where this is headed. However, Reeder Classic and Inoreader are still where I’m going to be because Inoreader allows for me to filter within feeds. For example, if I’m subscribed to a feed that posts various “gift” suggestion articles (Wired, for example), I don’t want that in my newsfeed. In Inoreader, I can filter those out, but using this version of Reeder means I have to use and see the posts no matter what. I would love to see an email app-like filter that lets me remove using the headline or body text (maybe even author?). That would make this version of Reeder massively useful for me (maybe not others). Till then, it’s Inoreader and Reeder Classic for me.

Reeder 5 is great but…

I love the author’s apps but lack of ability to swipe between items keeps me from using it and thus I use Reeder 4. I like this developer so much I paid anyway.

Too many bugs

This new software cannot work properly! Even, cannot enter the interface at all!

It's a Big Swing

As a long time Reeder user, I was eager to see the new version of one of my most used programs, and right now, I think Reeder 5 (or Reeder Classic) is a better fit for me as I use it for RSS only. The new version however, may be a great solution for those that follow content in a variety of formats or services. The developer has already shared that there are features coming that will greatly add to the expierence, like folders. The unified timeline approach is interesting, but I really wish it had a setting or way to hide or visually dim old or previously viewed content. While I'm not a fan of subscriptions, I really hope that the change to a subscription model means that we'll see active development on this version. Updated 11/21/24: I keep trying to get this to work, but the implementation is just ….odd… here’s and example: I have my Feeds in three places: - Home: A running list of all the stories - Folders: I have my feeds in folders by topic -Feeds: I have all my feeds in one section in alphabetical order Now here’s where it gets weird…. - If I read all the stories in Feeds, it doesn’t update them as read in Home or in the Folders - if I read all the stories in their respective folders, it doesn’t update them as read in Feeds or Home

Seems like downgrade so far (work in progress?)

I am a long-time paid Reeder (Classic) user. The current new generation Reeder (2024) app is a significant downgrade. Neither allows me to re-organize rss feeds readily. I have had to resort to the old tried and true NetNewsWire app to do that, exporting the results each time into Reader (Classic). Though NetNewsWire requires use of an external browser, its flexibility will save me loads of time and hassle. May switch over altogether … function over form. Cancelled my Reeder (2024) subscription.

Like it more than I thought I would

The adjustment to no unread count was easier than I thought it would be. Smart folders/saved searches would be an amazing addition. Would like to see robust feed management features and support for subscription podcasts.. No regrets subscribing and supporting the developer. Silvio is legendary!

Not clear on the benefits identified by other users

I have signed up for this version after being a long time user of previous releases mainly to support the developer. But, on the surface this version seems like a significant reduction in features and usability. It seems like others love this new iteration but I’m just not seeing yet.

Pretty nice, needs a few options

I was initially skeptical, but I really like the idea of syncing scroll position instead of just going off of unread counts. That said, it wouldn’t hurt to see a count of unread stories from various feeds I’ve subscribed to. Overall, the app feels very polished, intuitive, and it works for me. I think a $10/yr subscription is quite reasonable, so I’ll happily pay when I run into the feed limit. The one place where the app could use some real improvements is in display options. The column of text using the built-in viewer is much narrower than I would like, but it doesn’t seem like there’s any way to change it. Also, article images in the list of stories are FAR too large for some feeds I subscribe to, and there are no options to constrain their size or placement. There are some other less important UI quirks, but nothing too serious.

5 stars BUT No keyword filter options

Kid Axolotl on

FEATURE REQUEST: I want to censor out politics and sensitive topics by making a list of keywords I don’t want to see. The app is triggering but I’d actually be happy to subscribe and use it if this feature was added.
