Don’t put an app out if you are unable to have basic functionalities and documentation in place. Tried at least 5 times to register and was always prompted that the password format is incorrect and with my password entered being cropped. No explanation about characters to be used or avoided and nth on the „format“. Never seen a dumber bunch of developers on the planet.

### *---- "Langsam, unkomfortabel"
Für so einen großen Bahn-Anbieter eine wirklich miese und lahme App! Bei jeder Verbindungssuche muss für ich als Einzelnutzer, obwohl ich ein angelegtes Profil habe, immer wieder die Art der Passagiere auswählen. Mal bleibet eine Suche einfach hängen, mal stürzt die App ab, wenn man eine Suche startet. Für viele Verbindungen heißt es „Train not available“ ohne jede Erklärung. Und leider zeigt die App auch kein Abfahrtsgleis an. Das erfährt man erst auf der Abfahrtsanzeige am Bahnhof. Umständlicher Bezahlvorgang, kein Apple Pay.

An sich funktioniert die App ganz OK. Definitiv kein Highlight, aber funktioniert in den Basis Funktionen. Beim Bezahlen gibt es kein Apple Pay, sodass man erstmal die Kreditkarte rauskramen muss etc. Echt umständlich und auch unsicherer als Apple Pay.

Die App ist wirklich schwach und kaum hilfreich, weil:

- die Zugverbindung nicht mehr angezeigt wird, sobald der Zug am Startpunkt abgefahren ist (wie soll man dann den Streckenverlauf checken)

- nur Direktverbindungen angezeigt werden und man selbst mühsam die Umstiegspunkte recherchieren muss

- man sich virtuell in einer Schlange anstellen muss, um die benötigte Verbindung einsehen zu können

- es keine Echtzeitinformationen zum Zug bzgl Pünktlichkeit und Verzögerung gibt

- lediglich Einzeltickets kaufen klappt… wow

I give it 2 stars because it works well when you want to book tickets using the Spain Pass. Nothing else works. You can't buy tickets, and you get the error at the end of the transaction. We went in person to the Renfe counter in Barcelona to ask for help. Not even the Renfe staff could use the app correctly. In the end the only option to buy other tickets (like Madrid to Toledo, for example) is to get them at the station, where they charge you more for the "service fee". It honestly seems like a scam. There is no other option but to use the app, so be patient. I just hope someone from Renfe read this and fixes it.

I couldn‘t imagine that buying a train ticket can be so nerve-racking. The app as well as the website are unbelievably buggy, I‘ve seen various errors and none of my bookings was successful. Instead, I could watch the prices rising. Meanwhile, I can no longer log into my account using the app as there is no e-mail with the verification code. Eventually, I had to use iryo as it was not possible to buy a ticket for AVE. I‘d rather not think about the level of data security at Renfe‘s IT.

The current version is no exception. It's not working most of the times.
