RTÉ is propaganda

Terrible app. The ads seem to load no problem but the actual content is unreliable and rarely plays. The app doesn’t respond to any of the controls on our Apple TV remote other than settings. Really buggy and such an disappointment compared with other streaming apps. Do better RTE, you’re paid enough.

As a 2 year come from away, Mc Savageite when it comes to the dross brought to you by your license fee, having only soar view and a tele Addict partner, I know of what I speak. I’m now triggered by many of the theme tunes. Stop trying to be a 100th rate BBC with a fraction of the population, get rid of your stars like CBC, and then be like 4.

I am Irish, and I have been living in Canada for the past 18 years. Initially, the RTÉ Player App was a Godsend - mainly because of the possibility it afforded me of catching up on the daily news from home. The older yellow-coloured RTÉ Player App worked very well on my IPad for about 3 years before I was forced to switch over to the newer App. What a disaster! It kept freezing, and then gave up altogether. I downloaded the App on my IPhone 8 about 2 years ago, and was pleased to be able to watch Six One News and Nine News again. That honeymoon was also short lived, however. It would seem that RTÉ no longer allow access to the main daily national news on the app (at least not here in North America). This started in early August. What the heck is going on, RTÉ? All of my siblings and extended family live in Ireland and pay their TV licences (if that is what the concern is). For emigrants like me, the Six One news is lifeline. Please fix this forthwith. Sincerely, Owen (in Toronto, Canada)

I downloaded the app on my iphone. It plays the videos on my phone but not airplay on my samsung tv

RTÉ Player is a lifesaver living abroad even after 33 years. Thank you. There’s a richness and authenticity in programming and interviewing esp The Late Late Show and Tommy Tiernan.
