Hi As a sufferer from health anxiety I always like to check myself over from time to time. Very impressed with the response from the dermatologist who took the time to check my mole. She put my mind at ease. Thankyou very much. Will be using again to keep monitoring any suspicious spots.
I have deleted the App as after scanning a mole I had concerns about I scanned several others I had for years and they were all “concerning “. I then scanned a table mat with mark on it-( not concerning), but when I scanned a scar (no moles in pic), that was also concerning. I fear this App is exists to prey on peoples fears so that they request a doctors opinion - which you have to pay for!
Every time scanned and result was inconclusive. £21 for a doctors opinion. No thanks
As a sufferer of health anxiety, I have LOTS of moles, (roughly 50) I scanned almost EVERY single one and we’re Over 90 % concerning for every one of them, absolutely rubbish what a scam.
Can't even scan a photo to submit. No instructions, just a silly cartoon type image that blocks the camera!
App simply crashes completely when I touch the camera button. What a complete waste of my time.
Someone who is a bit health concious I sent 2 non mole pictures in to be checked (which I was told was fine) which came back absolutely fine I was told I could also get them checked by a senior dr which I agreed for the sake of it and both have now come back saying possible cancer so from going to originally 2 ‘it’s fines’ to now 2 get a biopsy and a possible cancer for the second hasn’t helped my anxiety and will be onto my GP on Monday 👎wouldn’t recomend UPDATE..after hearing back from scanoma after my review in no way did the dr state ‘doctor recommended a physical inspection for reassurance’ instead that a biopsy was mandatory and it was a possibility of ‘a scar or white skin cancer’ for 1 of the pictures. My money has been refunded and I will talk to my own dr this morning after a very anxious weekend UPDATE I went to see a private dermatologist today £180 later as the anxiety wasn’t going to let me wait 2 weeks on the NHS and thankfully she said it was nothing to worry about and only a scar as predicted by Previous drs and dermatologist. I’m sure this app were trying to do the right thing but the wording I feel needs to be a little bit sensitive rather than saying the word ‘cancer’ and ‘mandatory biopsy’ maybe saying something like ‘this looks quiet concerning to me and I would advise to go and see dermatologist straight away’ would have been more responsible. Payment was refunded but this isn’t for me the first dr said it was fine and the ‘snr doctor’ which I would have assumed all drs are Senior said otherwise how many people have been told it’s ‘fine’ without a senior Dr looking, However my mind is at ease now but I definitely wouldn’t be using this or any other skin app again if your concerned go and see your Dr where they can look at it properly. I would however like to say the support team were very helpful and got back to me ASAP and for that reason i will change my star to 2
I have this been signed off having had 2 operations on a Melanoma I used it several times to be sure and it was always above 95%concerning It’s great to have this to hand especially during Covid when appointments are scare I shall be using it every month to check from now on Thank you
I used Scanoma for a mole which had grown in size. The response I received was very professional and quick to arrive. Also, support were extremely helpful and quick to reply when I needed to send a follow up image. Would definitely recommend this app.
