The new anime promo is a trap. Don’t fall for it. They post the first 4-5 episodes of a dubbed anime with a promo code in the description for a free 30 day trial the HiDive anime app to continue watching the rest of the show. A slippery move already but I took the bait… I made an HiDive account just to NOT HAVE ACCESS to the rest of the DUBBED episodes of the show I started watching!! Only Subtitled episodes (including the first episodes I watched on Shudder in English, were only available in Japanese audio with English subtitles on HiDive) This is extremely dishonest. Bad business. Bad marketing. Major customer dissatisfaction. I may cancel my Shudder sub because of this poor business choice… the only reason I’m not giving a 1 star is because I like the rest of the content on the Shudder app.
Hit or miss
A lot of the movies are pretty good, some of them I couldn’t finish. When I was done with the subscription it was impossible to unsubscribe. Had to cancel my card and contact customer support
Love content but dislike the comparability for specific devices
I can watch it on my app through my iPhone but it won’t play as an app on my Apple TV 4K no matter how many times I reinstall and restart. I also had the same problem with an older Apple TV model.
Horror fans will like the collection
And fans of unfortunate frustrating bugs will enjoy how Shudder TV auto plays underneath anything you start from the Apple TV app

I used to use this app and I loved it. Was good for movie night. If you watch horror movies all the time, this is the subscription for you!
App doesn’t work well, hard to find anything
It is near impossible to search for a specific movie. The app brings up a bunch of different movies before the actual movie you are searching for, if it comes back at all. And even then when clicking on movies in the search results, it isn’t even selecting the proper movie.
Have to pay separate subscription for every device
Absolute thievery!! You have to get a separate account and subscription for any device you need to use. For iPad one subscription, for the Rogers cable box another, for Apple TV+ another, nothing is available through PlayStation. This is attempted theft, pure and simple. Shudder isn’t worth looking at, they should be shut down.
Great content
However its needs the ability to be able to log in via cable provider. I subscribe to it there and can’t log in. It makes me pay for a second subscription to use it on my iPhone/ipad/Apple TV
CONTINUED CHARGING MONTHS AFTER CANCELLING SUBSCRIPTION
I cancelled my subscription and after the service had ended THEY CONTINUED TO BILL MY ACCOUNT. Talked to their CUSTOMER SUPPORT ONLY TO BE TOLD ITS THEIR POLICY TO KEEP THE MONEY THEY COMTINUE TO STEAL FROM ME MONTHS AFTER MY SUBSCRIPTION TO THEIR SERVICE HAD ENDED.
