The first series Play1 won’t work with the S2 app. However, each time I open the S1 one app, it keeps on pushing for the update. Appreciate, the developers could end this rubbish with the aim to disconnect the older speaks so that users feel forced to buy the latest generation. This is highly unprofessional!!!! Each app update making it worse and worse and trying to push users into buying always their latest speakers to ensure seamless functioning.
This app is no longer working with the first generation speakers. I thought I could delete it and redownload. Now I cannot even download it...
Lame, the app has stopped working, now I have 10 bricked wifi speakers, so sad it’s my kids birthday party today
Does anyone else have this problem with the S1 controller ?
Sound is amazing. Look and feel is great. Easy to use and setup. The app has always been cumbersome and tedious to use, but I’m happy to ignore that for the amazing sound. My only qualm is this. What got me most excited was the way they first branded themselves. I got my first set 7 years ago and the idea that I was sold on was brilliant; an actual smart speaker that would age like wine, no worry no fuss about updating or keeping up with new models. Finally a brand I could be loyal to! And now with the new series and incompatibility, I find myself having to download different controllers, can’t use features across both etc.
After the recent update, I can’t play music from Spotify anymore. So unstable. Arghhhh.

It is an insult that you simply remove the support for direct play from my iPhone or ipad to this device. I can only play radio or paid services which was not my intention when I first bought this device.In fact I bought 2 of these and now they are just use as internet radio.Very disappointed with the way you support your legacy product. Note that basically this is just a speaker and should be allowed to play from whatever sources with no restriction.
First time user to Sonos. I’ve been trying to add Google assistant for the past hour to the Sonos one(G2) to no avail. I see others having issues too. Updated both apps and firmware but something always goes wrong when adding. Reset app and updated Google assistant app but still can’t add into Sonos. Will update review when this is resolved.
It makes setting accounts across different products so challenging. And I find I have to link services over and over again. Badly done. Hate this product.
