So many bad ratings yet aggregate is 4.x?? Is someone fiddling the numbers?
Rotten app
First generation kit are still great. Every time I try to use the app, something bad happens.
Terrible app
When it first came out, the Sonos system was superb. It all worked wonderfully. It coonected with ease and the sound was flawless. But then something happened a few years ago which renders it virtually useless. It would stop working without explanation. It just won't connect. Eventually after 25 minutes of downloading the app (again), turning the device off and on it would suddenly connect and then a week later it would refuse to connect again. Connectivity, or rather the lack of, is deeply, deeply frustrating. I had for years been raving to everyone and their dog about Sonos and now I tell everyone to avoid it like the plague. A terrible, terrible app
Developers need to be fired!
They ruined a great experience we were enjoying and bragging about since 2015! I turned many friends and relatives into Sonos after they heard the quality on my 8 Sonos devices! The miserable devs separated the app into 2 useless apps that I can’t decide which one of them wins the WORST DEV award! Both don’t work, won’t connect, rendering my 8 devices in the lounge and living room which I paid almost £3000, into useless bricks! I’m so mad and sad to have to sell them and honestly don’t know where to start, BOSE, SONY, Harman Kardon… etc. What a shame.
Frequent updates are an issue.
Update frequency is just shocking. Latency in volume and song selection is just so poor. Loved this 10 yrs ago. Now it has lost its way.
This version of the App works great!
I recently ‘downgraded’ all my Sonos products so I could use this App. After endless problems with the downgraded new app I now have an app with all the great old Sonos functions that made them great. Seamless integration between the different products in my house. Speakers - music - music - speakers. Good connectivity. No crashing. Now I am happy. I just hope Sonos provide the resources / server space for everyone who will be returning to this version of their App.
