Features and price seem reasonable. After spending time reading and comparing the available info, I decided to do final tests on reception clarity for calls etc. I was met with the following caveats as I am Canadian. None of this is available on the website info, which is the reason for the 2* review. Feels disingenuous, wasted hours of my time as these include obvious dealbreakers for me, and these seem to be well known but intentionally left off of the available information. I can’t begin a relationship with a company I can’t trust. — **Calling out using your mobile** When you make calls through Spruce, we use your personal cell phone's carrier minutes to make the call. We do this by calling a third-party number to disguise your personal cell number and show your Spruce number to your callers. When the system does this, it calls a U.S.-based number, so you will incur U.S.-based long-distance charges if your personal cell phone does not have free calling to the U.S. We are adding internet calling from the cell phones at some point in the near future so check back with us. You can use Spruce VoIP phones, which use the internet, so they would not have the same long-distance fees. This is available on the Communicator plan only. ​ Anyone who calls your Spruce number will call a local number, so long-distance charges will not apply. This process will apply whether you port in your local number or we get you a new Spruce number. **SMS outbound texting restrictions** Due to new regulations regarding SMS texting, you must be a registered business with our system to send outbound SMS texts. Canada's regulations differ from the U.S. and cannot be done as easily, so we often see issues with this approval process. If you want to send SMS texts, you will need a Provincial or Federal Corporation/Registry ID Number. Without that, we cannot register your account and do not recommend using our product now. **HIPAA + Canadian security laws** We don't have any policy on Canadian law or regulation for privacy and security. However, we follow HIPAA guidelines and have completed the SOC 2 Type II audit.

Ever since there was a change in management it has been so much harder to get in contact with people in chat, instead of taking 1-3 business days to respond they now respond within months at a time.
