Torturous
Having gone through the palaver to open an account do not ever make the mistake of upgrading your phone.
Installing the app on a new phone requires another video to prove your identity. Which would be fine if the button Record A Video Now actually did anything.
I can log on via the website and confirm my identity with my iPad. Sh outta luck on your phone though.
To the devs. TEST YOUR APPS FOR THE WEIRD EDGE CASE OF “Customer has account and buys new phone”
Too hard
I added all the details it wants, and it wouldn’t open an account. After spending an hour going through their account creation process and giving them everything they asked for, I think the least they could do is tell me what was missing. But no. Useless.
Apple Pay now removed!
New customers now cannot use Apple Pay, after spending hours in online chats they emailed me saying new “industry wide standards” means some customers won’t be able to use the mobile wallet feature.
It is stupid how this app can previously support Apple Pay and customers still use it but new customers cannot. It shouldn’t be able to advertise Apple Pay now so is currently falsely advertising the app.
Bring back Apple Pay
A great bank and good app but the recent removal of Apple Pay reduces its usability and appeal as a organisation that is supposed to be different from the traditional banks.
Great if new in the UK
2 minutes to sign up for UK residents, and the card automatically begins working in Apple Wallet.
Bank statements show as PDFs if required for tenancy agreements, and this can be used instantly on the tube for contactless payments, as well as bank details to provide to employers.
All banking apps should be this easy.
