Monese - A banking alternative

Monese introduced new fees at the end of 2023 which I have no record of being informed of. These fees have resulted in the company slowly stealing my money every month. I have requested a refund of the fees and to close the account but they have refused. Scammers continuing to steal my money.

These guys don’t understand the difference between following the law and working for the government. Very quick to block my account after receiving funds and then proceeded to ask me personal questions, they threatened to hold my money and close the account (without even giving me the opportunity to respond). Banks don’t get get much safer than a middle aged accountant. But hey that’s their loss. My money has gone elsewhere. I strongly suggest you do the same with yours.

For anyone looking for a bank. DO NOT USE Monese. If there are any issues, you are not able to speak to anyone. Also FYI the complaints and support email are shared by the same people, who bounce you back to each other repeatedly. I realised it was the same when I got a reply from support telling me that I should email complaints. However I had only emailed complaints initially. They are also extremely rude in their emails. It is unfortunate as the app itself works just fine, it’s a shame the people don’t.

Transferred large sum of money into the app. Within minutes I was locked out after being sent a notification to update. Can’t access my money. Did some research this organisation seem to be thieves.

I was keen on open an account until I saw the plans where the simple plan available charges 4,95 for delivery your 1st debit card. I didn’t like it, a lot of others digital banks offer the card for free so why Monese thinks it worth to charge it from a new customer?

From the word go, getting and using Monese has been a breeze. New in the UK, it took 5 mins to sign up, the app is awesome and has helped me save and manage my spendings. Money and banking isn’t something I resist and avoid dealing with now! It’s transparent and instant. Awesome.

Seems like no one of your services doesn’t work. You are good in one, take users money and lock their accounts after that. I can’t restore my password, can’t receive verification sms and your support looks like dead

Your conditions for putting a reference in money transfers is a little ridiculous 6 or 8 character no spaces!? Sometimes all I want to put is “rent” but have to add extra things

Tried calling several times, never agents available tried blocking people on the app doesn’t even have that option. Just fees after fees gone from good to terrible.

Charging £1 a month when not using the account and £1 per transaction.
