Description

Strava makes fitness tracking social. We house your entire active journey in one spot – and you get to share it with friends. Here’s how:

• Record everything – runs, rides, hikes, yoga and over 30 other sport types. Think of Strava as the homebase of your movement.

• Discover anywhere – our Routes tool uses de-identified Strava data to intelligently recommend popular routes based on your preferences. You can also build your own.

• Build a support network – Strava’s about celebrating movement. Here you’ll find your community and cheer each other on.

• Train smarter – get data insights to understand your progress and see how you improve. Your Training Log is the record of all your workouts.

• Move safer – share your real-time location with loved ones while outdoors for an extra layer of safety.

• Sync your favorite apps and devices – Strava is compatible with thousands of them (Apple Watch, Fitbit, Garmin – you name it).

• Join and create challenges – join millions in monthly challenges to chase new goals, collect digital badges and stay accountable.

• Embrace the unfiltered – your feed on Strava is filled with real efforts from real people. That’s how we motivate each other.

• Whether you’re a world-class athlete or a total beginner, you belong here. Just record and go.

Strava includes both a free version and a subscription version with premium features.
Strava uses HealthKit to export your Strava activities into the Health app and to read heart rate and biometric data.

You can subscribe and pay on the App Store, using your Apple ID. Payment will be charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Your subscription will automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. Subscriptions may be managed by the user and auto-renew may be turned off after purchase by going to the ‘Manage Subscription’ page in settings. Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when the user purchases a subscription to that publication, where applicable. The subscription will renew at the same cost.

Could be better

Brito_34 on

Strava please stop giving me kudos for another activity. I want to see notifications from my friends not from the app telling me I uploaded an activity.

Constant sync issues with Apple Watch. Time to find something else.

Strava is a ‘must have’ for all cyclists.

🚫Caution. Offers 2nd Free Trial, Bills Immediately

ALICEJONES1991 on

Watch out. I’ve still not received a refund. Strava and Apple offer a free trial to members who have tried the app or been members years ago. 4 years ago in my case. This is predatory, awful, misleading and harmful. Apple, please please fix this and contact me. Strava please help me and get Apple refund me. My screen read: “You won't be charged until Jul 12. Cancel anytime up to 24hrs before your trial ends.” “ Free 30-Day Trial $79.99/year ($6.67/mo.) after trial”. I accepted with the button on the side of my phone. And I was billed $79.99 instantly. No trial. Apple refused to refund, told me to get the refund from Strava and their all developers - who they blamed. Strava says app developers have no ability to refund, and they give it entirely to Apple. Strava advertises a refund policy of a number of days that amply includes this - especially as I called apple less than a minute after this happened. No matter what there is no way that this is ok.

How Strava picks and chooses which activity to support is beyond me. Still missing basketball.

Where is turn-by-turn?

Legarm on

As a tracking app, it works well, but there are no audio turn-by-turn directions when following routes. So while it’s nice to find user maps in unfamiliar cities for a run, be prepared to look at your phone a lot while running to see where you need to go. If you’re biking, have a handlebar mount and make sure your screen doesn’t go dark because you will need to look at your phone a lot to follow a route. This should be a priority for an app like this, especially at this price.

Love the app overall BUT…

Overall I love the Strava app. Both free and paid versions are great. I pay and enjoy the extra delegates and am happy with the regular additions to those features. However, if you are an Apple Watch Series 9 41 mm user, know that for the last 7 months Strava has been aware of an issue in which the activity distance display runs right off the screen. So you’ll glance at your watch to see how far you’ve run, ridden or anything else only to not be able to clearly discern whether you’ve gone 3 or 8 miles, for example, because of all the wonderful new features, they cannot prioritize getting the display figured out on the watch. No new features until the display is fixed!

Runkeeper SO much better and it’s free.

nickyb125 on

Strava is in serious trouble if they don’t fix their bugs because their competition will eat them alive. The fitness app that came with my phone for free is way more accurate. Runkeeper is also free and its quality is absolutely pristine. Strava is $70 per year and doesn’t sync with my Apple Watch. Nor does it track my mileage/splits accurately. I constantly have to take out my phone during long, difficult runs to check my stats. Doesn’t that kind of defeats the purpose of the watch app? Runkeeper syncs with the watch perfectly and makes it really easy to check my stats. The map routing feature has taken me onto some dangerous roads with no sidewalks that are not meant for people to be running on. Runkeeper is my go to now. I’d probably use it even if it cost more than Strava but thankfully it’s free. I certainly will not be renewing my subscription with Strava next year. I was truly impressed with what a high quality app Runkeeper was when I downloaded it. I’d expect Strava to be better since it’s $70 per year but it’s an overpriced peace of trash.

Great app, but for me, its essentially useless!

How long has this app been out? For the love of all things holy please let us trim out workouts! I.E… o forget to stop my hike after i finish and now its 22 hours later. Let me trim my route like you would a video recorded on your phone, so i can cut out the part where i drove home and didnt realize i was still recording. I have to delete 9 out of 10 of my workouts because i forget to stop my activity.

$80/Year for ZERO IT Support? No thanks

Rich523ad on

Strava, states it requires email to communicate with IT support, naturally, but it’s email verification and recognition of email & password that is the problem. I received confirmation email but unable to log onto website with same credentials. Tried alternate emails too. No IT Phone, Chat, nothing…waste of $80 and heading to MapMyRun.
