SugarSync

Sugar sync offers a core feature no other syncing service does; the ability to sync arbitrary folders on your computer rather than a specific special one. This is why I put up with the higher than usual price per GB of storage, and the frustrating bugs and lack of polish in especially the iOS apps. Of particular note is how poorly the integration into the Files app works, which routinely fails to load the content of folders that load fine in the sugar sync app. In conclusion, I continue to use sugar sync primarily because my subscription is locked in at a lower price from many years ago, and the unique feature set might not be worth it were I considering it at full price today.

It’s a bit like cheap insurance right? You can find cheaper, but it’s not until you need it that you REALLY need it. Sugar Sync same thing, not cheap but great product and I know my files are safe as ever. Thanks, keep up the great work.

Hi this app was amazing before, made finding files a breeze. Multiple window feature was the best thing I have seen on any app. Now it’s like every other app. Cycling back and forth between screens to find the file I need. At a minimum we should have tiles to view the content of the file. We have a lot of files that have long and sometimes similar names so very hard to find the file you want without seeing what is on it. Please change back to the previous functionality or add the option to have pop up tiles. I am using a iPad Pro 2020. Please! please! please! change it back. I use this all day everyday and is really frustrating. 5 stars prior to update

How do I delete an entire folder. I’m waiting for a response.

Love the update been using SugarSync for a few years now and have never had doubts. Great platform we this in business and is simple and practical to use. Simplicity is underrated you guys are the best. I will always be working SugarSync when ever I need the best way to sync our platform. Scott.

Loved this product - great UI, simple to use and works well. But lack of 2 factor authentication puts it far behind its competitors. Without 2FA it is not secure enough today to trust your data to them. Users have begged them for over 4 years. Not even on their roadmap.

I recently began moving all my files from Dropbox to SugarSync, as I only wanted to keep less important files in Dropbox and planned on having SugarSync as my more organised cloud storage. But as I opened the app today I was being asked to log in again, which I did, but was told the details I was entering were wrong. I eventually clicked on the "forgotten password" link only to be told that there was no account under my email address. I tried my other emails just in case but definitely no account in my name. I tried to contact support after finding no help topics suited to my query, but to "submit a request" I needed an actual account to proceed. I couldn't find any other way of contacting support so I eventually signed up for a new account. Next up, I was presented with a message to verify my email address before I could submit the request! I went to the email with the verification link, however every attempt at clicking on the link I was presented with a webpage from Office 365, warning me not to continue to the page due to malware. I almost clicked on the option to continue anyway but can't understand why I would be getting a warning like this when I thought SugarSync was meant to be a secure and trustworthy brand. I checked my email history to see if I had missed any notifications about my account and all I found were the emails from when I opened the account a few years ago, and one from last year with a password reset link. I've tried getting support via the app as well as the website and it's the same story; which is what has led me here to write this review. I generally only write reviews when I think an app is exceptionally good and offers something different and/or better than the rest, but I am writing this review for 1 star for the fact that the fallout from this type of app is a lot more detrimental to people than just a bad game, for example. As it appears I have lost a large number of files - which I'm hoping I still have somewhere else, but will surely spend countless hours searching for and reorganizing - I am nonetheless appalled by this situation and the subsequent difficulties I've then encountered, just trying to get some tech support from the company. As I'm sure SugarSync would understand, I am enormously unimpressed and not longer feel it to be one of the more serious and robust cloud storage services available.

As advertised and so easy to use. I've used iDisk for years and this blows it away

The app works well to view your files but one of they key things I need to free up space on my iPhone is the camera backup. This just doesn't work well. If you set it up to only sync on wifi, it still syncs on 4G. If you say enable background sync, then it stops syncing as soon as you close the app. I just cannot get a video I took to completely sync. I will have to open sugarsync, let it start syncing, plug the phone into power and keep it running without going to sleep.
