great app needs more features
great having my own drive.
would be better if it
- had offline file access via the Files app eg so you can edit MS docs natively while offline
- had better offline support for editing synology docs offline
- had full doc editing capabilities in this app - untill then i need to use MS office so i can edit docs offline
Works well once setup but pain initially
Ok so to clarify you need to install the “Synology Drive” plugin on the nas to have this work.
Everything seems to imply you can run through the DSM but this is not the case you need to install this.
No messages from either the logs or an alert on the app suggesting this, had to contact synology support to figure this one out..
Unhelpful
Unfortunately a supplier has decided to use this drive. They send a link which I would like to access via phone, unfortunately this means downloading the app. The app requires an account and password with no link to create account, looked on the overly full website no options to create account visible. Gave up and deleted app.
Amazing
Amazing in every aspect
Not a proper files app
Unlike Dropbox and Google Drive, Synology Drive is not treated as a proper files app by the iOS files app. This means everything must be done within a small dialog window, and you can’t drag and drop to/from SynologyDrive like you can with a proper files app. This limitation makes SynologyDrive virtually useless to me.
It is a shame this wasn’t built to work properly in iOS, apart from this show-stopping limitation, it actually works quite well in other situations.
