I’ve used this app for YEARS-for all forms of training from strength to cardio to real Tabata. When it came out, I paid for Pro access. Now I cannot access until I upgrade for $10/yr. It seems like some accounts should have loyalty standing. I’d rather pay for an interval timer that’s more flexible. If you’re looking for a good Tabata app, this one’s for you, but don’t expect loyalty in return. I’m so sad…
UPDATE Seems like the app has been fixed since my review. Thank you. Used to be a useful app, even when free. Now hitting the START button just brings up the option to upgrade to the paid version, completely bricking the app. 👎
Like many others, I bought this app years ago for a one-time fee. Suddenly they wanted a subscription and had an annoying ad that popped up every few times I used it, but I just cleared it and went about my business. Now I can’t even use the app because I refuse to pay again for something I already bought. Terrible business practice.
I have been using this app for years. In the last few weeks if I try and start Tabata Pro, it takes me to an upgrade screen and will not let me get past that to use the app that has worked for years. This app is useless now.
Not sure if it’s a bug, but the latest update won’t let you use the timer without purchasing the upgrade. I hit “not now” but when I hit “start” it goes back to the “start your free trial” screen. Can’t use the actual timer. It’s a shame, I’ve used this app for years and it’s been awesome.
Super disappointed to be forced to pay for this app AGAIN after being an early supporter. Restore doesn’t work, as this app has gone subscription and is failing to honor the original purchase price. Is this the way life works now? I regret downloading the update
I bought the tabata app for $1 or $2 a couple of years ago. It has worked well up until recently. Now they have hijacked my app asking me to join a subscription based service. I don’t need it. I just the tabata I bought from them. However, every time I start the app for a workout I have to deny signing up for the extra service. It used to be i had to deny it 3-4 times before being allowed to use my app. Now it’s not letting me use it at all. These developers are crooks. Don’t buy this tabata. There are plenty of substitutes.
App started spamming request to upgrade when trying to start a basic timer.
I just reported this app as a scam. Like thousands of other users, I got this app as a one time purchase. After a while, it stops working and demands a fee to “upgrade”, which means to continue working. I recommend that everybody reports this as a scam
Bought your timer tests ago, now it won’t work unless I pay a subscription. Hope woof you like to get into your car one day and it doesn’t start unless you pay a subscription for the car you bought 8 years ago? Off you gas stated a subscription fee before I had bought it then ok, out if you want to charge a fee now do so only to new clientele, but honor your original date never you introduced the subscriptions c’mon!!
