Awful

FB58 on

Just so disappointed with this App. Having bought a training plan I couldn’t use it as the App was just so glitchy and not user friendly. No refund and no meaningful Customer Support just emails from Alex with links to sort it out myself which I would if the App was responding in same way as it was in the support drop down menu. So it’s useless and frustrating!

Definitely a brilliant app to use. Easy and clear to use with lots of little extras that make the app appealing to use. Would 10/10 recommend.

Limited overall view of training

throwaway1843 on

Lack of integrations are the biggest frustration. No way of showing my coach the complete overview of my training. I am a cyclist so doing work on the bike and also yoga but no way to capture this in the app and therefore have my coach able to see my total training load. Doesn’t even integrate with Training Peaks which is their sister app!

All you could want from a program

Athlete program on

Definitely worth the money, you can tell time and effort gets put into it and the people behind the app know what they’re talking about. If you keep on this program and follow it with integrity you will get fit af.

Great training app

Ive come back to Cal Strength programming after over a year or two and the app seems even better now. Very intuitive and easy to use with loads of features

Forgets information from previous workouts

andrew23# on

Every week at least one or two previous workouts have excercises which the app forgets were done despite being logged

Getting worse and worse

slippery_chimp on

Have been using this app for a couple years, the longer I use it the more I notice how basic functions aren’t available and the more bugs appear. 1) Won’t allow you to copy and paste coach routines. This means if your coach forgets to program in your workout and you want to grab a previous one, you have to manually enter it yourself. 2) Comments recorded in previous exercise don’t always show when you do the same exercise again (even when online). 3) When completing workouts either the effort is saved, or the minutes, or neither, but never both. You ALWAYS have to go back afterwards and put them in again. 4) Even after correcting the minutes and effort information, when you go back to previous routines, random 3 or 4 digit length minutes appear. This happens about 50% of the time making the training reports I pay for in pro absolutely useless. 5) TH are double charging. They charge the coaches to provide their services in the app, and then they charge an albeit optional fee to the users as well. Since the bugs make the pro features mostly useless anyway, this is just a money grab with no actual care or thought put in what users are paying extra for. 6) App is totally useless in off-line mode. It will crash / freeze constantly and it doesn’t even save ANY of your previous exercise data locally, so if you’re off-line you won’t see your comments or history for your previous effort. This would take up a tiny amount of space on the device and really is a basic feature offered by competitors. 7) Timer issues, they often glitch out so do things like add seconds, some times they play the audio cues, sometimes they don’t. 8) No ability to alter simple things in coach provided routines, if the default for say running is in meters, and I want to use miles, I have to get my coach to manually change it from his end - it’s ridiculous. In short the whole app is totally hit and miss. I hope my coach changes back to TrueCoach soon. It seems like TH are only bothered about the back end / coach side and not the usability of the app. Sort it out.

Great App

Kanye11 on

Really good app beats a pad and pen any day. I like the insights portion of the app and the readiness level you generate before training. My one gripe can you build in a sound notification to alert at the end of rest period. something small but doesn’t take away from how good the app is to use

Very buggy

Laurynas. on

My trainer insist to use this app for chat but it's very bad. I cant see what I write as the keyboard overlays on top of larger messages. This app is the worst!!!
