doesn’t encompass some good mobility drills like YTW, banded hip joint mobilisation, etc.
Needs a quick assessment on whether exercises work, I find some shoulder stuff is useless but I can’t tell the app to stop recommending it or to try something else or to add custom exercises like YTW’s
Suggestion on the mobility side. Improve delivering the correct exercises by their effectiveness.
Stability. Super important but neglected. A shame the focus is on mobility when truly it’s both mobility and stability that are the building blocks. If you added stability drills, boy that’d be killer and if you collaborated with squat university, whooo boy that’d be 🔥
There’s not much long-term benefit doing mobility drills without stabilising that new mobility.
I’ve used this app for years but only for it’s simplicity in picking mobility drills per body group and recommending me drills where I’ll replace some exercises for better ones I’ve learnt outside the app.
My mobility does improve from using this however most of the growth is from exercises that aren’t listed. Like instead of the 90/90 hip movement, I do a kettle bell hip movement where the back is 90 but the front leg is a lunge.
Some much potential
The mobility part of this app is great. The range of exercises keeps in interesting but also the execution really helps you find the stretch. It be nice if it scheduled mobility test (if it does then it’s not obvious). The pre-work out is also good. What is missing for me is the post work out - the app turns into a glorified advert for thermoguns here. It should try work on flow of workouts as it’s very start stop. It also should consider sound options. I have 6 months sub, undecided if I’ll renew.
Great but not enough variation
Been using for 2 months and need more movements and mobilities. Other than this, the app is awesome
It works!
Remain consistent and the protocols help you and develop your mobility, improve your overall movement.
Great addition to support training
Really happy to have made this mini investment to help improve my mobility. The app is super easy to use and offers great value for money. I've seen a 10% improvement in my mobility over the first month, and I'm excited to see how much it improves over the next 30 days!
Best stretching and mobility app EVER!!!
I use this app daily but really wanted them to create the ability to make personalised protocols and now they have! This truly is the best app for flexibility and mobility now because not only can you do the mobility test and track your mobility but you now have the ability to do one of the programmed protocols or design your own. Truly happy with this app and highly recommend!!
Create your own protocols!
The app is great and I love using it but I wish you could create your own protocols! If you could do that then this app would definitely be 5 stars!
Repetitive
The app just gives the same stretches each time, just seems randomly done and not the slightest bit ‘personalised’
Very few stretches given to include accessories such as bands, I think it’s worth paying a decent amount up front for something like the Mobility Manual or Tom Morrison instead.
It’s very basic and hyped up by Crossfit
I chose to use the GoWOD app for about 3 months because as an amateur crossfit athlete I decided that I needed to work on my mobility. As GoWOD’s subscription is cheaper than Romwod/pliability I decided to give it a go.
Unfortunately I found the app very basic for the functionality it provides and expensively for what it offers.
Let’s start with what it actually does. It gives you a timer for each pose to hold until your selected time is up. It gives you a ‘personalised’ routine. It also allows you to do a mobility assessment.
What bugs me:
- the mobility assessment doesn’t allow for the option of ‘can’t get into the pose’.
- the overhead test is for the assessment is modelled for people…uhm…I don’t know who. I don’t know many people squatting without turning out their feet to make room for their midsection. Equally difficult for people with long thighs.
- there are some spelling mistakes
- it isn’t always clear what the exact pose is trying to achieve and sometimes it’s more of a strength exercise.
- post wod programmes always require the gym because of equipment need
- it’s far too simple for the price
- I feels like the person who programmed this doesn’t understand how stretching works and how different bodies work
- the routines don’t flow
- some poses are simply inaccessible to some
Tl dr: expensive overhyped tool that looks shiny because of affiliate athletes and brands.
Please add Apple Health integration
It’s a nice app, and I’ve used it for 4 years, but please could you add Apple Health integration - it’s a major factor that could otherwise pull me towards competing apps
