Uber Carshare (Car Next Door)

Hi hired a car on here and it was nothing more than a shed on wheels. The owner had not canceled my booking and left it for me to find in an unusable state. I was refunded and offered a credit when I called Uber about these issues. The second issue I had with this app was the return buttion don’t always work. I took the second car back 19:30 and next day woke up to a late fine. On to the positives now. Only go with those who have reviews and have a set number. 15 or more is a good number. I feel this is a good idea and would consider renting my car on here. It was a fairly easy app to use and many use lock boxes so the is no contact. Other owners prefer to hand you the keys. The car I rented was a friend of the woman I’m staying with.

I used this car hire service for the first time while I was on holiday in OZ visiting my son and his new wife. I found the app easy to set up and the range of vehicles available was great, unfortunately because I left it til the last minute I had to get what was left. I found a VW Golf, I thought it was a bit much for what I wanted but went for it anyway. The car wasn’t available for the time I booked it for as there was an issue with the app,so Noel said. Booked for 13:30 actually picked up after 17:00hrs. No sooner the other guy got out the car I was in after all the checks. I found the car very untidy inside and out. I was a bugger to start first thing but afterwards ok. Less than a quarter of a tank of fuel.i took the car to my son’s home and cleaned it inside and out. The car itself was a joy to drive and handle very well, it’s such a shame that it was in the state it was as it would have been a better experience throughout.

Setup on this was painful. Failed to read my IDs twice Failed to acknowledge my mobile verification I had to move to the website to get anything done. Then the trip that it didn’t confirm appeared as I was booking on the website. Then disappeared. Took me well over 2 hours to get something booked I can only hope the actual car rental goes smoothly

Terrible user experience overall… Rented a car from a scammy owner that broke down after 1 day! The customer service is somehow not bothered by it and been trying to get a bloody refund for a month now!! All this just to tell me they don’t do refunds on international accounts!!… Oh but happily take your money from an international account though!….. Absolutely ludicrous and shocking service…..

Was today notified Uber are trying to charge me nearly $2000 for damages to a vehicle that wasn’t me. Complete scam company avoid at all costs
