UniFi FAQ
Is UniFi free?
Yes, UniFi is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is UniFi legit?
⚠️ The UniFi app has poor ratings and negative feedback. Users seem unsatisfied with its performance or features.
With hardware that looks like Apple products I expected the software to follow suit. Unfortunately, the videos on the site belies the user experience. The whole setup process was unnecessarily long, convoluted and buggy needing factory resets. Thoroughly disappointing!
Latest versions are broken on the Mac
Not a bad app which works well on the phone. App did work on the Mac but now broken in recent releases. Using web browser interface instead.
Connection to UniFi Express keeps dropping
The ubiquity system generally is good. All the control I need fro a router, however the app often struggles to connect to my UniFi Express, and when it does, I get frequent connection drops making it really difficult to make configuration changes.
I love UniFi
Advanced networking made simple. I love how easy it is to configure your network using UniFi equipment and apps. Highly recommend to everyone. The apps are constantly being improved and updated. Good work guys!
Overly Complicated
Overly complicated set up - avoid. Bloated software stack - security nightmare. Wait until this is simplified and running locally.
Works a treat
Initial setup 10/10
Further configuration 8/10
Reliability 10/10
So frustrating!!!
I love the hardware and the software is well designed (albeit with a hideous number of sub menus making it quite hard to work out where one particular setting is).
It could be so good but getting sick to the back teeth of the dreaded “ Starting Application is taking longer than expected ..” message. Nothing helps, moving close to the router being on hard line , rebooting … it just seems that 90% of the time the system doesn’t want to communicate. Renders the entire set up and all the work on the app etc completely useless. Incredibly frustrating
10.16 No longer connects to G2 cloud key
Update: 10.16.1 fixes it - thanks!
Just updated my iPad to 10.16.0 - site manager works but can’t connect to G2 cloud key remotely, just sits there trying. 10.15.3 works fine on my iPhone and other iPad. Sigh!
Latest update has broken App
Worked fine last week, latest update applied and now it doesn’t… won’t connect to our UDM Pro just get the pulsing dots trying to connect. Thanks for that
Latest update broken connectivity
Working perfectly until latest update, now can’t connect to my UDM Pro either via direct connection or via Internet
