I got this app for a new CCTV camera I’d bought. Setting up the camera was simple, the app is easy and straightforward to use, and the subscription features looked to genuinely improve the functionality. So I upgraded - and the camera no longer works right, it no longer sends notifications when it detects motion and the page that’s now meant to have multiple detection types only has one, and it’s ‘Others’. As a result, I’ve sent 2 cameras back and will be getting a different type with an app that does what it promises to.

Since updating my VicoHome firmware a few days ago (June 9th 2024), my camera won’t stay connected to my wifi. It says wifi signal strong on the app but then the server times out after trying to connect when trying to watch the live feed. Is there any way to restore the previous firmware version? It worked ok before

Very good set up and user friendly good product

I bought this off Amazon and was initially very pleased. However, after the first couple of charges the battery started lasting for shorter periods of time. I tried contacting support, but support was only a bot. It kept suggesting things to lengthen my battery life, which is fine except that nothing had changed since my first charge. I also signed up for the extended cloud time thinking that I could control the camera better. Don’t bother. There is seriously little benefit. The “zones” don’t exist in the way that earlier cameras (from other sources) exist and these are pointless. I set it to only pick up humans, it still relentlessly picked up my neighbour’s cat wandering past. I tried to cancel the subscription, you can order it in the app, can you cancel from the app? Not a chance!! When I finally had communication with a human I was told that “apple manage the subscription”, oddly they only manage the cancellation and not the sign up bit. Hmmm.?! The battery died completely this last time, so I recharged it (it took 24 hours!!!) and then wouldn’t connect to my WiFi using the same connection that it had before. Again, I attempted to contact support, but after the pointless battle with the bot (“have you checked that the password is correct and that the WiFi is turned on?” Seriously??? I have given up. (I had evenu tried removing the app and starting from scratch). Would I recommend this? Not a chance! Spend £5 more as I am about to do and get something that might work in the long run.

I have been using this App for some 3 years now with Cpvan 2k and Dihoom 2k Security Cameras. I use them for security and there ideal for monitoring the wild life in my garden front and back. The software is very easy to use and hasn’t glitched once in all the years of usage Access is quick and extremely user friendly I subscribe to the cloud number one package which is so affordable and currently using 7 cameras with it, you can just use a sim card and do away with the need to subscribe but I like the fact it’s accessible in the cloud as a secure protection. I also share my Cameras with my family that are 200 miles away and in turn share there’s. You can access it from anywhere in the world. This review has been long overdue, I can’t fault it as it’s perfect for me and my family and friends. Only thing I would love to see is what camera manufacturers use Vicohome as I’ve had to research myself and knowing the users would possibly make me buy there systems to add to my ever growing home protection.

We have had one in the back garden for around a year now and can’t fault it. We have bought another for the front to replace a wired one . So easy to use and easy to charge up. A great camera for price.

I am very impressed by the quality of the videos recorded by the camera. I bought this device because I have had trouble with some deliveries by nonchalant couriers who are not dedicated to the work, who “dump” rather than deliver items in cardboard outers in pouring rain. This device spots them coming down the 40 steps to my house and I can usually get to the door, either to thank them for their efforts or express my dissatisfaction. I am 86 years old and not a wealthy man so I am not able to afford the upgrades that are available, however, I am pleased with the results that I have.

The camera connects fine through a hotspot but will not connect to my WiFi which it obviously needs to do.

Information is there but it is not always obvious. For example we had to google how to get live streaming.
