Thank you!

The App is really functional now (as long as you have a Warhammer+ Subscription). Landscape Support has been added and the „Command Bunker“ is an excellent feature as a companion while gaming.

Good App, but why oh why no Landscape Support?!?

Dear GW, your new 40k App is fine, but why do you stick to Portrait Mode only for the iPad? With Landscape Mode and a Sidebar this could be the perfect companion for Games! Oh well, let‘s hope the Forces App gets it‘s army builder running soon…

Free Version is virtually useless

Only usable if you have your codex either handy or memorized. Data sheets are redacted on free and you can only make 1 list. Just use BattleScribe or literally any other free list builder

RULES FOR EVERYONE

Why do I have to look at my opponents phone or codex to see the rules of their units? And now with the ever changing rules and datasheet updates, even the physical codexes have become obsolete. We’ve gotten to a point with this app where books are not necessary anymore. I would be more than happy to pay a discounted price to just receive a digital copy of a codex and receive access to the rules in the app. The paywalls in your app have also recently led to controversy in one of your largest 40K competitive events! Imagine if some of the 6 players that lost to the Tacoma “winner” were able to see the rules in the Ork section of their app. Rules need to be readily accessible by both sides of the table!

It’s ok

I love the idea, but I have thoughts on how to make it much, much better. 1. The ability to clone lists. It takes a ton of time to add equipment, and being able to duplicate a list to make a slight change would be huge. 2. Don’t lock list building behind a paywall. We’re already paying for models, paints, accessories, and books. That can’t pay for a list builder? 3. Ability to purchase a digital-only codex. I’m paperless. Don’t need another paper book that will be obsolete in a year or two. Plus it can be cheaper since there would be no physical overhead. 4. Better yet, make all the rules free. See #2 above. Ignoring some of the above complaints, this is a decent app. Thanks

Aside from Games Workshop’s greed, app is great!

I loved using this app for army building and for playing games of warhammer, it was genuinely the best tool they had offered as you had access to all of the rules at a moments notice and could build armies on the fly, which made games way more fun because it streamlined the process so much. But the monthly subscription that you need to make more than 3 lists + all the money you spend on their miniatures isnt enough for Games Workshop, in order to access ANY army rules, you have to own the $60 codex for that army (which used to be almost worth the price because of all the lore and character descriptions, but is now just a $60 rulebook for each army), effectively making it so that using this tool means you have to spend an additional $60 PER army. Absolutely atrocious business model from Games Workshop that only seems to be getting worse with time. I can only hope they come to respect their fanbase and customers within my lifetime, but that seems unlikely at this point.

For the greater good!

Great app with just a couple flaws. If you think you’re going to download the app to easily get your units stats, almost everything is behind a paywall of having to already own a codex. Apart from the problem the app runs great with very few issues, would give 5 stars but codex paywall

Better than it was, it could be better

I’ve used, and paid for this app since its inception. It is tremendously improved from the early days. My main two things I would like to see addressed in the future is for the app at random times to stop reverting to the free version causing me to quit the app and restart. The second issue is there needs to be a roster modification or module for Crusade. Right now you cannot add notes or modify stats based on battle traits. A minor thing also would be having the legends units available for rosters.

No Landscape on iPad

What the title says. I’ll update this once you add this EXTREMELY BASIC FEATURE.

Good app but business model is bad

The subscription looses value over time making it more useless. One must buy the paper book codexes for every faction AND pay a monthly fee for the app to get all rules access. The army builder is not anything close to being worth the monthly fee. I would put all the lore and mission stuff in the codexes. People will still clear the printed stock immediately. Most people shelve them and use another tool for unit data and points anyways. This app has promise. Just charge $15/month and allow all points and rules access for all factions and use the codex codes to unlock a mission section, lore and pictures, and stuff like reskinning the app in faction colors and flare. This would make the game a lot more approachable for newer players and make the app usable for competitive play and better balance. For the sub cost, add value, like predefined army lists that can be used. Or suggested faction army lists to help people get introduced to new factions. Add a collection tracker, that you can use in conjunction with the army builder. Add a buy list function that compares the collection verses an army list the outputs a list to work with to buy the missing models. Heck, if the App Store won’t rail you for it, link it back to your site to build a list to auto-add to cart. Painting suggestions with links back the GW store to a list of paints needed to and ask to auto-add it to cart. There are a LOT of potential options for this app. Even for monetization without buying paper books. I want to see the game thrive, but it seems that’s not the actual goal by the owners or upper managers?
