Description

***Way named 2023 & 2024 Best Non Diet App by Healthline***

Originally, the word "diet" comes from the Greek word "diaita", which means "way of living".

Sounds like our concept of a "diet" meaning a restrictive program is pretty far off the original meaning, right?

No wonder restrictive diets have an 83% failure rate (some studies say 95-97% failure rate).

Instead, Way is an intuitive eating and mindful eating app, that helps you listen to your body and align your way of living and eating to your values.

Grounded in intuitive eating and mindfulness within the cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) framework, Way has 2-8 minute sessions within three Pathways: Mindful Shifts, Emotional Eats, and Body Feels. The objective of each Pathway is:

Mindful Shifts - To unlearn the "perfect" body image that's perpetuated by diet culture, and reframe a new body image that's based on your values. We find consistently that body image is the most common trigger to the restrict-binge eating cycle (which is the main reason why restrictive diets fail so often).

Emotional Eats - Emotions Influence eating. Don't "fight" or try to "stop" them, like what the results say when you type "Emotional Eating' into Google. Connect with emotions, understand where they come from, and find more harmony with food.

Body Feels - Your body is talking. Feel it, and learn to listen what it's saying.

These sessions deliver progressive, self-derived learning through three core practices and are sequenced in a specific order, as designed by the best intuitive eating dietitians, top behavior scientists from institutions like Columbia University, Duke University, and the University of California.

Some additional key benefits:

+ Cultivating greater self-awareness and self-curiosity about eating patterns and habits of thinking around mealtime and nutrition.

+ Developing a mindful ability to **pause** between stimulus and response with food. This includes developing foresight and planning as it relates to food and your body - the **pause** is a core tenet of nearly all mindfulness and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) practices. With a pause, you get more freedom to decide what will make your body feel good and what will bring you more joy, happiness, or align with your values in life.

+ Building greater self-acceptance, self-kindness and disarming the negative “self talk” that can be a thief of energy and is the signature of diet culture.

Codes don’t work

joely0128 on

I’m trying to use a valid discount code and it consistently says payment failed error when I didn’t even get to payment option? No response from app as to why?

Enjoyed til tech issues

Cedmoo on

App began glitching in different ways and since couldn’t find anyone to reach out to for help I’ve ended my subscription. If issues get resolved and I’m contacted I’d love to continue using.

Finally what I needed

TeriKay22 on

For me a whole new approach to a “healthier” body. What I didn’t know was how much I needed to change my mindset and how I truly felt about my body. This app guides you through that and in such a gentle positive way. Can’t wait to continue my journey on this app.

Want to love but needs bug fixes

abraege on

I like the UI feel and content of this app. It’s just really glitchy. My sessions sometimes don’t save after completion or they restart. The “next session” countdown gets stuck at “next session starts in … 1 second.” Once you scroll a few slides into a previous session, you have to scroll back out (sometimes many swipes). The quick view cuts off text. I think the intention is great, the themes are great, the design is soothing and pleasing. The app really needs some bug fixes and navigation UX work.

App stopped loading new content

Thiscantbepossible on

I was excited to try this app and signed up for the free trial. After about ten days, I had completed the sessions in the first three pathways that it assigned me, but no new content was available after that. After a few days of checking with no further updates, I finally just canceled the trial.

No way in, or out

MusicMomTeacher on

I can’t log into the app because I can’t recall my password, and there’s no place to change or recover my password. So I can’t see if I’m being charged for a subscription, and I can’t use the app. Seriously, it’s freakin 2024 — there’s no excuse for no having a way to recover a forgotten password!

Would love to love this

WhoMe-YaYou on

Great content but glitchy like everyone said AND - there’s typos. I can’t help but question the validity of a platform (who’s in charge? Who’s reviewing?) when there’s incorrect spelling/grammar. It was going along smoothly, I was doing daily lessons for 6 days and really liked it. Then it just stopped. No more lessons. The tabs just say “pathway complete!” For the last 3 days. Frustrating because I’m PAYING for this. I’ve emailed Way twice AND messaged on instagram and can’t get a response. Close to cancellation if no one responds and it’s too bad, because this app has potential!

Love this. Super helpful for my journey!

Will be using Way for a long time. Huge fan!

So glitchy

ElizFig08 on

I was recommended this app by my Dr. Unfortunately, its just not user friendly and so glitchy. I’ve had to close out of the app so many times du to pages just stuck or repeating themselves. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled and that didn’t help. I’m not getting much out of this being as the daily sessions are so short but I spend most of that time navigating glitches. The concept is great, it’s just the app is not fully functional. I have an iPhone 13 by the way. I’m canceling my subscription for now. Maybe in the future if the developer gets the bugs taken care of, I’ll be back

Looks good

Eyeless Fish on

Way looks like a good, and it’s pretty easy to use. I would love to use the app longer than 2 weeks, but I simply can’t afford any kind of subscription. That’s why I had to cancel my free trial. I’m Blind and disabled. Due to this, I’m on a fixed income. I will have to delete the app after my free trial end. There’s no way I can afford it.
