Werdsmith: Writing App

i was happy to pay for this because i can afford to and it’s everything i want in a writing app. then you added gen ai. whatever, it’s tucked away somewhere that i won’t accidentally click. didn’t bother me enough to stop using the app. and then i finally updated to the latest version. the button to activate your ghostwriter is now in a spot where it’s almost impossible not to accidentally hit it while going about my regular writing. and i do NOT want to use this function! ever! please, for the love of my fragile sanity, move the damn button somewhere else. or add a way to disable it. i don’t want to stop using this product. in every other aspect it’s pretty perfect. all i’m asking for is a way to turn the ghostwriter off. fix it and this is, once again, a four star app. (admittedly i wish the search function, uh… functioned. at least a little bit better. it currently won’t search my entire body of work—only the most recent things i’ve worked on. not a huge problem as i just access it on my computer and use ctrl+f but it’s still annoying. fix both these issues? it’s easily the best writing app on the app store.)

I’ve used this app for as long as I can remember, back where it was mostly free with one-time payment options. I remember buying more writing space. Now, the membership has replaced my purchase and I cannot create more documents. I can’t help but feel like I’ve been scammed of my original money I spent buying an “upgrade” that isn’t there anymore.

I love this app! I wrote so many stories and ghostwriter helps me get ideas when i’m not in my creative mind! The problem is i don’t know how to get my ideas back after i save them as ideas and leave them. I wrote something i loved and don’t know how to get it back, developer can u pls help me fix this<3

Use it for your writing goals, not to store work! What I personally do is that I write my first draft on Werdsmith to make use of the daily goal you can set! Afterwards, I copy-paste it into a document in another app to save it. If you’re someone with a writing goal, then don’t worry about the project limit and instead use it to tack your writing goals! Werdsmith, to me, is an app to track progress, and so I don't use it to store files.

I have used this app for years, it’s my favourite writing app but since this new update there seems to be a bug where I’ll be writing something and it will jump the view way up in a document? I don’t know if this is in part due to the size of the project I’m working on. It’s just over 50k but I’ll be writing and then when I go to start a new paragraph or line it jumps up and I have to scroll down to find where I’m working. Slightly painful when I’m trying to edit in the middle of a doc and keep needing to find my place. It also seems to have issues with the curser saying it can get placed weirdly and then jumping up the document. Please fix it soon!

Love the modes, ease of use and stylishness when writing. I’ve used the app for years but the price is so astronomical I can’t continue to use it.

It’s nice because I can make story’s so much more easy. And I can bring it in the car and I dont have to worry about trying to write with the car moving 10/10 would recommend this app

Very nice. Works quite well. I like the percentage thing— with the goals and whatnot. Definitely my favourite writing app so far.

Hey there! I’m a newer writer, and I’ve found this app very helpful, especially the ghostwriter! I have just two suggestions. The first is that it doesn’t give many corrections, except for if you spell something wrong. If you’re able, please look into more grammar suggestions. If you can’t totally understandable! The second is just something that I think would be useful to a lot of people. You have the two subscriptions, that include ghostwriter, extra writing spaces, and novel, poem, and screen play writing forms. I understand that it can’t be free, as you do need to make some profit from this app, but not everyone can afford to buy it, and not everyone is going to use all three formats. For example, I’d only really use the novel format. So my idea is that you could sell separate packs, that would include one format, some extra ghostwriter, and a couple extra writing spaces. Of course, just a suggestion that I thought would be useful! Have a great day/night, and thank you for taking the time to read this.

I have recommended this app about 5 years ago and I still use it. I am the age of 14 almost turning 15 and I quite enjoy this app for when I am writing my chapters for books I have created. If you are thinking of starting a book, I highly suggest this app. Keeping doing you Werdsmith. - Rehemma A.
