Program sticks to default sound settings when listening to your phone, every time you pause and start again it restarts to default “Streaming Tale”. No way to make sure another selected program becomes the new default or the preference. It’s very annoying and could be easily fixed.
I use on my personal and work phones. Suddenly I am losing my connection if I step away from my phone or haven’t used my phone for a period of time. Incredibly frustrating and needs a fix.
It is lovely for what it is. I love that you can create your own programs without Aud assistance. The Apple Watch Companion is lovely. Oddly for a company that creates disability aids, they don't care much about accessibility.
My experience with this app has been a challenge and sometimes impossible. It's unacceptable as the owner of the HAs and user of the app I don't have more control. As a professional musician for 40 years, having a 3 band eq is nearly worthless. I understand many people need simplicity but there ought to be settings for advanced user as well. It's hard to do my best in a playing situation when one of my ears is being assaulted by a 10k squeal. Turning off and turning back on HAs, app, phone, did not solve the problem. I've had the 440s for nearly a year and I'm still having trouble with adjustments and this over simplified minimal less than satisfactory app. Loud clicks changing from one preset to another because the mute automatically turns off while switching. Inability to delete an unused preset, slowwww to load. These hearing aids are supposed to be the best but the app is the control between the hearing aids and my ears and brain and it is incomplete and unsatisfactory which drops the overall experience of just trying to hear better. Very nearly a complete failure.
Terrible design, Bluetooth doesn’t work properly. Constantly having to disconnect and reconnect so both hearing aids are synced together with sound, static when playing music and on Facebook hearing aids keep announcing “universal” constantly!
I have tried so many different settings and listening to live music and stuff on my phone always sounds worse. Sometimes I just want to gouge my ear out.
The Bluetooth option worked well for the first 6 weeks. Now it cuts in and out. When frustration forces one to switch to speaker on the phone, within a minute it defaults back the the hearing aids which connects then disconnects constantly. I am about ready to get my money back. Update, widex is really slow at getting back to their customers. I ended up returning the hearing aids to my provider who had to send them back to the factory and ended up replacing the old hearing aids. So far so good.
When my phone is set to silent, it does not vibrate when Bluetooth is on and connected to my hearing aids, so I have to look at the phone often to see if anyone has messaged me. Also, in CarPlay when I get a call and it comes through the car, when the call is over, audio switches to my hearing aids instead of back to CarPlay. Both issue are quite annoying, but the silent mode problem is the worse of the two.
For all the technology that is used in the hearing aids, the app is severely lacking. It seems as if it was an afterthought when it should be one of the highlights of purchasing such expensive hearing aids. The customization feature only works marginally well, the settings and display are not customizable, and when an update for the hearing aids is pushed you are forced to update immediately even if you need to use them right away. All of the above should have been addressed long ago. Also, they need to add a widget so that the frequently used controls are more accessible. I shouldn’t have to open the app, and navigate to the volume or program options to quickly change them. I should be able to toggle them directly from a widget on the Lock Screen. The Apple Watch app also needs updating. It takes way too long to connect to the phone every time it is opened.
