Just a warning to small businesses owners. I own a small plumbing business and use the free version of yelp for business. 5 star review from a customer got taken down and when I called yelp they told me that it was because the user was “ too new” and they “only want reviews from users very active on yelp”. As a small business that was a big hit loosing such a positive review And seems unfair. How are 90% of my customers supposed to let people know how we did if their reviews get flagged bc the accounts “aren’t active enough”. The Yelp techs suggestion was to pay for yelp. No help offered. Beware if you own a small business and make sure to advertise on other platforms too.
Ruining My Small Business' Reputation
Yelp has consistently removed my company's reviews. I don't have the revenue at this time to pay for Google so I rely heavily upon Yelp. Once I refused to pay for ads, they systematically and unilaterally began removing all of my reviews, 12 5 Star reviews!!!! Anytime someone writes me a new review they remove it as well as my older reviews so it makes it look like I don't have any history of consistent positive review. I am absolutely disgusted with lack of consideration for small businesses this company displays.

Dis like the fact yelp decides for what ever reason to remove reviews clients leave if the client is leaving a review after a service there’s no reason it should be removed smh
