I really like the reading app and hope it can add Chinese translation and include a page-turning animation.
I tried so many eReaders, and Yomu is the only one that makes the reading experience at all agreeable. I can set the font to an inoffensive serif (most other readers lack any passable serif font options), and I can adjust the margins, size, and line spacing to a balance that works for me (another option that so many readers lack). Most of all, importing my own ePub files is painless and straightforward (another thing that so many other apps make convoluted or impossible). I wish I could pinch-to-zoom in on images when they appear in the text at times, and could list some quibbles about design decisions in the library and settings interface screens, I suppose. But the fact remains that this is the only iOS eReader app I’ve found that I can tolerate enough to read whole books in.
Works for me.
This has all the things you need if what you want to do is focus on reading. It allows me to easily switch between devices and is by far the best reading app I have used on my phone and iPad.
I have used many different readers and they all have their pros and cons. I prefer Yomu because it is simple, effective, and presents a limited but highly useful set of options for optimizing the reading experience. Font and layout selections are excellent and both easy to implement and also to adjust mid-read if required. Background appearance is sufficient, although a further grey layer addition for night viewing would be a welcome addition. Very easy to import books stored in Calibre iCloud folder, which is a huge plus. I haven’t tried the pro version yet which permits cross device syncing (as I understand it) but that will be my next step. For individuals seeking an independent reader, this one ticks all the necessary boxes.
Having more fonts to choose from than the built in Books app is a very big selling point.
App is great, however it prevents me from highlighting on pdfs. Besides this bug - I love the simplicity of this app and the sycnhronousity across multiple apple devices is great.
I love this e-reader! It’s super easy to import/add new books and it all goes alphabetically by title. My favourite feature is the widget, where it will display things you’ve highlighted in your Home Screen.
It does what it says and can open epubs the deal breaker is the fact that in a dedicated reading app where you swipe left and right to switch pages someone decided it was a good idea to also make swiping left a way of exiting a book. Half the time you want to check out a previous page you will swipe out of the book. There is no setting to disable this either. A simple X to close button would’ve sufficed.
