Camera footage usually is behind, up to the whole hour, then nothing for the current hour. Footage is on disk, but unavailable in the App. Round Live Video buttons are too small, and embedded in a huge events button. Tap a bit off-center and you get events instead of live video. Playback still cannot get the past whole hour. You need to manually help the App beyond the whole hour. Time format inconsistent. The cameras will display 24h time, the timeline AM/PM. November 2023: timezone troubles. Unfixable with the Zmodo app. You can still change the timezone with the Zsight app. I have an NVR system, with an internal HD for recording 8 channels, no WIFI, the cameras are connected with cables for data and power. I had expected to be able to view live steams and recorded footage locally, on my own wifi network. Older Zmodo systems appear to have had that, newer systems don’t. They use an external service called meShare that talks to your NVR box or wifi cameras. Your iPhone or iPad get the video from meShare, not from your NVR or camera directly. This means video the stream is sent to meShare, and meShare sends it to your iPhone or iPad. If you don’t have a great internet connection this can be slow, as the video goes up and down your connection. Also, playing back recorded footage is very cumbersome. It takes 5-10 seconds to establish a connection, so finding an event in the timeline really is hopeless. There is NO playback speedup. (The NVR can be connected to a monitor, there fast forward is available, but not in the App). The positioning of the playback pointer is very inaccurate too, and without fast forward this is all very time consuming. Furthermore, playback of recorded footage is not always available up to “now”: more often than not it’s behind, and only on the next whole hour playback is available up to that hour. Locally on the NVR that footage *is* available, but not via the App/meShare. Disappointed! This could be a far better system. And now, October 2021: adverts?? Come on! One star! Very bad. Don’t buy this.
November 2024: 2.3GB data on my iPad, but the app only knows about 3.8MB. No flush data function anywhere. Can I give this app 0 stars?
NVR version, very frustrating
