BeReal is the simplest photo-sharing app where you and your friends post once a day to show what you’re really up to.

I used to love this app and would post every day and enjoyed seeing what I did in a given month or year. The updated app is not user friendly. They’re trying to be tiktok and it’s not appealing in my opinion. Will probably stop using the app, same with my friends. It’s been fun for a good couple years though!

I don’t know who thought this new layout was better but it’s not. Why would I want to see my own posts in my feed. I’d rather see it all at the top and I don’t need a huge photo of peoples bereal. Terrible update and I wish I didn’t have to update it. But there’s always a bug - no bereal notification or my music stops when I go to post one or it won’t post and all the workers say is to delete and update… but it’s a repetitive problem.

This cost me my 450+ day streak because I could view my friends bereals so assumed the notification hasn’t gone off yet. I love the concept of this app, but they keep changing it and now the feed is cluttered and it feels pointless when you can post an unlimited amount.  I do not like the new look. Not to mention photos are now getting weirdly cut off and half my photos are blurry even though when taken in the same environment with my camera app they are fine. I want to love this app so badly but they are making it so hard 🥲

As other reviews have already voiced, the app has moved away from its original ethos of being unique. It now mirrors the soulless experience akin to TikTok, Instagram Reels, and others. It’s a predatory method that allows for more ads to be inserted and strays away from what made this app different and fun to use. There’s also no incentive to post on time as the app’s namesake preaches. Please listen to what the USERS have to say, not the corporate suits trying to make an extra dollar.
