This was truly one of the worst user experiences I’ve had in an app. Had it been a second rate company producing it, perhaps I could uunderstand, but I expect A LOT more from Disney. Among the reasons the UX is terrible, the most obviously easily fixed is that the app throws up a landing screen and forces a full data refresh each time it goes out of focus. This means that if you aren’t able to get onto the Disney WiFi (which happened to us), you are at the mercy of the terrible 4G or worse network. We often waited 30 sec or more for the data to refresh just to see the map of the park. Let me be clear- JUST to see a map (forget location data), the apps data must be refreshed and you just have to wait. To move from an example of a big to an example of a small issue, Disney disables the paste function for entering by ticket numbers. Quite a small issue, but when the ticket number is about 25 numbers long (with no spaces or hyphens or anything), typing them in one by one is just awful. And yes, in theory the tickets could go into my phones wallet, but once again, Disney’s tech failed and for whatever reason wouldn’t actually put the tix in my wallet. The final example I will publish is the repeated bad directions / location the app would give. Multiple times the app rerouted me on an incorrect path because it got confused about where I was standing. Many 7 min walks turned into 15 because of this issue. The good news for Disney is that you are a captive audience and they have no actual incentive to make this app not awful. And for you, well, you have literally zero alternative to just putting up with the nonsense.
I can’t believe all the money Disney makes and can’t even get their app to work. I’m all excited after buying tickets to Disneyland Paris and can’t even get a restaurant reservation started! Not only that, but when you go to look at what’s available, it shows you times, but then it tells you there’s been an “error” and to “try again later”. How annoying. Honestly Disney, get it together.
Fix the login module. Amateuers. Ping if u need some explanations.
Easy to use. for the most part, this app was pretty easy and accurate. It was helpful to know the wait times and shows and parades. The user interface might not be perfect but it got the job done. We had an amazing time at Disneyland, Paris.
Absolute trash. Never works. ‘Oops’ every time I attempt a dining reservation.
Why don’t they just use the same app framework Disneyland and WDW uses? This app feels very clunky and the login doesn’t save and logging in is a pain every time.
Crashes, inconsistent results. Ask for dinnertime reservations, it shows breakfasts. Try to review a restaurant menu, it shows a blank screen When booking a restaurant reservation, if it is at the same time as another one you have, the confirmation screen tells you that it will cancel the reservation that you have NOT selected to cancel. Even though the app knows that you are staying at the hotel, it says you cannot book a dinner reservation until 2 or 3 months before even though you are supposed to be able to a year in advance.
This app needs some serious work. You are always one click away from the circle of death (or Micky of death in this case). Equally the app will eventually timeout or you’ll need to reboot it and then it has signed you out. Then you can spend the next 15 min trying to sign back in. If it worked, this app would be amazing of course but it literally doesn’t work.
It’s a slow to open and quite sluggish with some tasks. Doesn’t seem to be updated often. The login prompt at every launch is very annoying. Disney world and Disneyland apps don’t do this. This one NEVER saves login info. I use the Disney world app constantly and it is far superior to this one. Please follow the excellent path set forward by other apps in the Disney brand.
