DS video

What a complete piece of junk! Buggy. Crashes more than the cymbals on a drumkit. Stupid and unworkable user interface. ‘Cannot play this file’ on almost every video while they play fine on the webbrowser version of VS. After that message EVERY other video is gone. Restart imminent. The Synology NAS itself and DSM OS is great and stable. But this is irritationware.

This app has all the potential, yet fails to deliver on every level. Configuration in a struggle, performance is utter disaster.

This app has been working fine till about half a year ago. Now video and audio get out of sync after a few minutes. This does not happen on the DS Video Windows app on my PC. It does happen on both Apple TV and iPhone8. Internet bandwidth is not an issue, problem even occurs with ethernet connection. Why this app has not been updated for more than a year?

Wat een geklungel om dit aan de praat te krijgen. Waarom heb ik een aparte app nodig om video te streamen? Waarom kan ik niet gewoon een bestand selecteren in DS File en die streamen met airplay? Waardeloos en volstrekt onhandig.

Eigen gemaakte videos in mp4 formaat speelt ‘ie niet af, krijg een ‘coderen niet mogelijk’ melding. Redelijk nutteloze app, VLC speelt alles feilloos af.

A lot of videos don’t play because the audio format is not recognized. Every dts or other multichannel audio does not play. It didn’t work five years ago and it still doesn’t work. Recognizing and editing of movie information used to work quite well but that’s gone for the worse too.

Many problems, eg: If I want to play a video it gives me an HTTP error. I’m using the right ports.

Seems like there’s no priority to update the app. It was average, now it’s starting to be garbage.

It was pretty great, but it stopped recognising my TV and Apple TV.

Please add PIP in future update. Really missing this on my iPad.
