Everand: Ebooks and audiobooks

Today I started listening to a book, downloaded, then it stopped and the app said it was buffering. After 10 minutes I rebooted phone. Then the app wouldn’t start. When it finally did start, the book was gone. I had to go find the book. I had to download it again. This app is a game by NSA isn’t it.

this app is wonderful when it comes to audiobook options and how often things are in rotation. there’s always something to listen to! however, there are a lot of bugs with this app. you’ll be listening to something and it’ll just pause saying “buffering” and you can’t listen to the book anymore. sometimes if you delete the app, download it again, and sign back into your account it’ll start working again. unfortunately, sometimes you’ll have to do that multiple times for the same book. it’s pretty frustrating. another issue is customer service is pretty nonexistent. i no longer have access to the email address is use for this app. i tried to reach out about changing my email a month ago when it became apparent to me that that email address was expiring but the only customer service support is through an automated messaging system that doesn’t understand “complex” questions like how do you change your email. i’ve since been locked out of my account and there is no way to contact customer service to get this resolved.

The book I’m listening too refers to the “accompanying PDF” but it’s no where to be found.

I used to love this app but the new subscription sucks. You mean I have to pay 16.99 just to pay for plus books and I can only unlock 3 within a month??? Ridiculous! Just go to a library it’s free. Can’t even access unlimited books.

The reasons given for the limited availability of books because it is a “rotating library” doesn’t stack up. Why is it that only those titles I have saved become unavailable a week before my subscription renews? Would downloading titles avoid this. I have never received a satisfactory answer to questions I have asked and so have cancelled my subscription.

I have to say that this is the best book, audiobook app today. Stephen King’s new book came out today May 21st, 2024. It’s already on the app in both ebook and audio. I hate ebooks I prefer the real thing. But I love audiobooks and Stephen King being my favourite author and having written over 100 plus books on Audible on 2 credits a month it was going to take a long time to hear them all. Well this app has almost all on audio over 100 and every one on ebook. Now I do like Audible for 1 reason. For $30 a month I get 2 books a month I can keep forever. But their premium content sucks let’s just call it what it is. You won’t be disappointed with this. But developers Ann Rice has nothing on there! And Dan Brown is missing all the Robert Langdon books. Especially Origins. So you still have a lot of work to do here.

…. when most of the reviews are 1 star?! This app is not unlimited! It appears on the surface to be amazing but after listening to 2 audiobooks (popular titles), almost all of my saved books or really anything even closely related to have the books I just read have disappeared or are now listed as “available soon” which is one month away! There was a huge selection before I read those two books! Totally frustrating!!!! The top ten books on their “top charts” now feature “The picture of Dorian Gray” and “Sense and Sensibility”… both good books but hardly chart toppers these days 🙄. Don’t bother replying that you are “sorry” or there are “rotating titles”. This app clearly limits you to only a couple desirable books and then basically locks you out of most other books you’re interested in reading until the next month! I suggest to increase the limits on readers or you are going to lose customers!

There’s really no reason for me to be barred from using Everand when my IPhone 7 still works perfectly fine. There is no reason it shouldn’t still support IOS 15

The app is generally good, though it lacks some books and the red highlighter is a significant drawback. I have used a yellow highlighter for all my books for the past 20 years.

I have a job that allows me to listen to music and/or books depending on the danger involved in my line of work. But I love to read real books. That said this is one of my favourites because it has 96 Stephen King Audiobooks that I can access anytime of course you never own them but this way you can weed out the ones that you don’t care for before you buy. But at work and now at bedtime I listen. I find I go to sleep much faster because the lights are out the television is off you just tune out. Watching tv before bed can reduce your sleep especially if you’re watching an action movie or something you’ve never watched before. Try it out because I have massive sleep issues and this is better than going on medication for insomnia which can lead to addiction. Everything should be tried before medication. But this has so many movie books and up to date stuff. I know the app picture looks terrible lol! But it has everything from little kids learning words while hearing a great story right up the ladder of something for everyone. Anyway I was a bit disappointed about lack of Ann Rice and the fact that almost every Dan Brown Audiobook isn’t in English. Dan Brown is my second favourite and most of the Robert Langdon Series isn’t in English and I was very surprised by that. That has to change like soon because a lot of people love Dan Brown’s writing. Now his other Audiobooks are in English and just a couple of the one’s we all love and I want to read Origins! Ann Rice is my next favourite author and just no Interview With The Vampire Series also no Mayberry Witches Series. I mean really? And there’s a lot of people who love her writing as well. But 96 Stephen King Audiobooks and I believe every ebook he’s written are all there. Anyway it’s absolutely worth $13.49 a month in Canada 🇨🇦.
