Downloaded the app on the 13/06/24 And it keeps on saying the app does not operate in the UK to cut a long story short basically Anyone from London England who uses this app, please let me know if it does or what I’m doing wrong

The app has suddenly decided to block my account. Not having a single accident or insurance claim in my life, I contacted their support team and have confirmed the status with mib. Their support advised me that the only way to fix the issue is to delete account and create a new one, but the new one now shows no available rentals anywhere. Tired with the process so I’m going to other providers who have reliable verification systems.

Nice app and easy to use. However they like to put extra charge on fuel even when you can’t add more fuel at the gas station, because their device is far more precise… (in my case 15%) Good to know when checking which service to use when renting a car.

This app makes hols in Europe so fantastic . Train then affordable car with personal service of the owner . Just brilliant !

Abusive fee structure, London owners should be required to register to the automatic payment for the London congestion charge. Charging you £125 for driving one day in London on top of the rental price

I’ve used and continue to use Getaround as it’s a great idea. You can hire cars that are just a few streets away, the rental period is flexible, you can filter vehicles via your preferences, the app is very straightforward and the pricing is reasonable. However, there is no real quality control in place or routine cleaning of vehicles between rentals (even when there have been days since a car was last rented out so it’s not a time issue). So you need to be prepared for cars that are grubby , broken air-conditioning and have some dents and scratches. Cars have always run well and I’ve never been concerned about safety etc or had any issues with unfair penalties or fines. It feels like a ‘friendly’ service rather than just focused on making as much money from you as possible. I continue to use them , just wish there was better quality control on the condition of the cars (nb: I think this issue only relates to cars which are purely for renting out vs someone’s personal car they share when they’re not using it themselves.) UPDATE: Does anyone else think the Developer Response misses the point?!

Te cobran cantidades completamente desproporcionales por cualquier error ejemplo limpieza de coche 90€🤣 deportación 20 metros (por haberlo dejado en la misma planta pero no en la misma plaza de parking) 190€. No exagero , estos son los precios así q si vas a utilizar este servicio asegúrate de dejarlo todo perfecto o t van a sangrar

They keep sending me texts with no option to pay out either in the text or in the app. Use if you don’t mind repeated texts from an App does not follow GDPR.

The minimum 2-year limit on driving licences is a bit weird. I even also have 5+ years of experience in a different country. This is the only app that we can't hire a car in the UK.
