I hoped the app would provide the easy overview of trending news stories that was the format before the introduction of the “card format” that’s now in use. Instead it was even more “foggy”. Each story is presented like a novella meant to be read in depth. It’s like making a picture book on a lot of unconnected localities - when what most people are asking for is a map. It’s like the designers here doesn’t really read news themselves- and don’t understand what daily news reading is all about.

I’m sorry. I’m uninstalling it. Super slow "page turn" when swiping and external browser for links are the reason for that.

In much the same way as Twitter, Google News is what you make it. I love the customisable nature of the app, and while we in Norway have a dreadful Apple News experience, this is the best news dedicated app.

How do I remove Verge and Vox from the suggested sources? I don’t want that crap on my phone. Uninstalling until it is fixed.

The previous app was fast and to the point. This new app is bloated with pictures and slow. Nothing to write home about. At least let me turn off those distracting pictures. They just make the apps slow, and the scrolling intensity increases dramatically.

To me, this revamped app offers a worse user experience than the original. Too much space is wasted. The original provided a more compact list of news items, which is essential to get an overview of the news without wasting time.
