Good

Good but some kanji are difficult to write because it’s too sensitive. Some definitions are too similar and reviews can take up to 25 minutes to complete which is too long in my opinion. Also the feedback Send button doesn’t appear to work!

2nd lesson won’t unlock

i really like this app, it teaches me how to write kanji instead of just picturing it, however, whenever i complete the first lesson, the second one won’t unlock, do i need to pay for the 2nd lesson?

Potential to be 5 stars but a few issues

I love the way the app is set out. There’s been a few issues here and there along the way but I haven’t minded so much until I hit N2 - then it became really frustrating how many descriptions for the kanji was exactly the same so you can’t tell which kanji you need to write.

Sleek, effective crash course for kanji study.

Love being able to practice correct stroke order on the screen. Includes audio! Also appreciate being able to review the kanji I’ve already learned in flash card fashion, in random order and at any time.

Excellent for learning kanji

With more than 2000 kanjis to learn (average learned by the Japanese themselves), this small one off payment is totally worth it! I love this app because it’s very simple and straightforward, let’s do you draw the kanji on a white screen without any type of clues when it thinks you have learned it, which challenges the brain to truly learn the kanji. I’m studying Japanese in Duolingo App, and an great as it is, it doesn’t provide anything like this, which results getting mixed up with kanjis as they all start to look to similar for us westerners used to the easy Latin alphabet.

Thank you

I love this app. Simple, does what it says it will do and does it well, doesn’t suffer from mission creep. Love watching all the kanji gradually change colour as I get better at them, too. Thanks, dev!

Great kanji app, could be more challenging

I’ve been using this app for over a year now, and I’ve found the lessons to be really well structured and organised (everything makes sense, you learn kanji that will come up again in future lessons, etc.). Only complaints: (1) the app has a hard time recognising when we write kanjis with the ⻌ radical which can be frustrating + (2) would be good if, when writing compound phrases, it would let us write the full sentence ourselves, rather than simply picking options. It would add challenge and fun to the lessons & reviews. Otherwise great app, I’d recommend!

Uncomplicated solution to grinding kanji

There are a lot of ways to learn languages, but for Japanese Kanji, I really appreciate the simplicity of this app for just rote-learning characters and vocab. It’s just one payment for access to the whole app, so no annoying subscription services. The kanji writing recognition isnt the best, there are some words that it really struggles with like 引く but for the most part its okay.

First refund request ever

Nearly threw my iPad at the wall. Insanely, predictably broken. Super effective at most kanji, but as soon as, say ‘degree’ or ‘summer’ or whatever else comes up, know that you will fail and fail with zero feedback as to why until you quit the app out of frustration.

Amazing and affordable

This app is so helpful and I learnt SO MANY kanjis from this app, I’m so grateful this app even exists. Should add optional background music, though, because it’s very silent and can get boring. Price is affordable; it’s only about 30 bucks to learn 2000+ kanjis (but I got a 40% discount). App uses calligraphy / handwriting font, rather than computer font which helped a lot more. Highly reccomend!
