My anxiety level when I’m doing a mistake 📈📈📈
It’s a great app for learning kanji and all the necessary kanji in that matter, I just wish that when reviewing give us less levels to perfect the kanji if you get a kanji wrong in the practice review then it goes strait to red and takes a long time to get to green and it’s annoying, I knew when going into learning kanji it was gonna be hard and I was ready for it but I wasn’t expecting to be doing the same kanji 20 different times, still a good app just needs some fixing. Also if your gonna learn Hiragana or Katakana use the website Tofugu.com it never gave me a viras and you can print out a free book on it so use it for katakana and Hiragana. Also please add both onyomi and kunyomi reading in the lessons it really would be better
I really loved this app a lot, and it used to be my only real way of learning kanji, but it’s seriously frustrating how unresponsive the developers are Switched my phone a while ago, and lost all purchases. Restoring didn’t work, and 3+ emails with no response back. Just is unfortunate
Has everything to learn kanji. The quiz, ability to review without testing and the stroke order. Cannot recommend enough.
Great app to learn kanji. It’s only one time price and not a subscription which is rare these days. It’s very nice to see. If learning kanji is your goal. This app is a must have. There are some major flaws that could affect some people more than others. First off. You have to know some Japanese. You have to be able to read hiragana at the minimum. This isn’t a flaw but just know that not knowing hiragana will make this harder. I suggest after learning hiragana. Start learning kanji and Japanese will actually start making sense. Sentence structure always trips up people and knowing kanji actually makes it easier to follow that structure without the need for overly complex rules that traditional language study courses use. The first flaw is the writing recognition. The writing recognition requires you to know all the stroke order to get it correct, if you make a mistake it forces you to trace the stroke order again from the beginning and not just your mistake. Writing recognition also fails to notice correct writings often especially on complex kanji. It takes time to write it in a manor which the system will accept a writing as correct. It can be frustrating. But if you don’t get frustrated and know you are in fact writing the stroke order correctly and it’s just the system not recognizing it. The writing feature is a great tool to master any kanji. The second big flaw is that all your progress it stored on device meaning you cant have your progress continued on another devices. So if you use this Kanji app on your iPhone but want to load it on your IPad. The iPad version will start from the beginning again. Sure you can start any lesson you want but it will miss out on any review lesson. But it’s a small inconvenience for a one time price that is less than most monthly subscriptions. Overall if you just want to learn Kanji and or make learning Japanese sentence structures easily and can live with it’s shortcomings. This is the tool for you.
It would be better if the progress is synced on the devices with the same Apple ID
Everything about this is great, the accuracy, the furigana, the writing; just perfect. But how do you get past level one, even with lots of practice, I cannot get past level one of each section. Please provide details or solutions. ありがとうございます
I’ve been using this app for literally 5 minutes but so far so good. They have a good review feature and the interface is slick. Plus the pricing is NOT subscription based; woohoo!!!
This app is great but i feel like being able to ask to type out a word on a keyboard (showing a kanji onscreen) would be a cool feature that could be added someday (although would take a lot of work)
This app is so good for learning and memorizing beginner and intermediate kanjis. However, once you start getting into the N5 and late N4 levels, the words you learn get more and more obscure to a point where I don’t think I’ll ever use a good portion of the words this app has been teaching me lately and there are SO many repeat words and verbs with no context given. It’s become so hard to learn with this app recently and the past review just builds up more and more. If I want to “quickly” finish my review for the day, I have to spend 30+ minutes. Please make this app more conventions for people like me who have been using it for a couple years or more.
