Streaming never works. Atrocious!

There’s a glitch when trying to sign in with AppleID. Wish I hadn’t paid the subscription before finding this out!

I can’t believe how poor the video quality is. I can stream 4K video just fine on other platforms but on Medici I feel like I’m watch through a webcam from the 90s. Every now and then I get a hires image only for it to return to poor quality again I’d rather just subscribe to YouTube premium and watch euroarts channel Medici devs. Have a look at the Berliner philaharmonica app. Now that is a high quality classical music streaming app.

For years I’ve waited and waited and waited for this outfit to fix their technology. Today I tried three different operas. Here’s what happened. First, the videos stopped after 15 or so seconds- just stopped-before starting again…then stopping. And so on until it just became too frustrating. I got 15 seconds of an overture then sound and picture froze. I gave up in severe irritation. Second, the picture quality is fuzzy. Definition lousy. In one case it came good and I thought we were set and then melted away again. Terrible. Three, in all cases after I tapped English subtitles they never appeared. Just hopeless. What on earth is wrong with their technology? I should cancel the subscription but live in hope.

This app is a disgrace to Medici TV. Subscription costs Australian dollars $299.99, and the app scarcely functions at all. Perhaps once out of fifty attempts. Although it does not function, there is no iPad access to the real medici.tv website - when you reach a weak copy of it, it suggests you "use the app" - which is unusable! A vicious circle which drives one crazy with powerlessness. I have now sent 4 e-mails describing the problem, and have not received even the vaguest reply. Didn't imagine I'd live to see the day when a Classical music website would be a not-so-clever con. Disgusting.

This has been a wonderful addition to our evenings. The range and quality is breathtaking. I don’t know what others are complaining about. You do need: - a reliable and fast internet connection, preferably wired (ethernet); - upscaling on your TV or receiver to improve the image quality on older performances (we watched Aida from 1981, and the image was, expectedly, grainy, but acceptable; and - a sound system that can play the sound track(s) as they were recorded. I would have given the App five stars if the App could be downloaded onto my AppleTV device, rather than having to distribute the programme from a mobile phone or iPad (where the Medici.tv App can be downloaded to). Oh dear. This app. Is awful.

In the lead-up to Xmas, and beyond, Medici have sent me about 15 emails begging me to buy gift cards or subscribe (I previously subscribed in 2014). I caved in on Xmas and bought a 3 month subscription. The videos do not work at all! There is audio, but no visual. And when I log in on my MacBook? Same thing! I emailed support on Xmas day, but heard nothing back, just more emails begging me to buy gift cards. In 2014 I used the Samsung TV app. It was clunky and repeatedly froze while streaming, a problem I didn’t have with other apps. It was barely useable. Half a decade later, judging by my experience and other reviews, medici.tv have still not got their act together. My patience is running out.

Navigation is clumsy, it tends to crash. There’s no minified player.... It’s in acceptable for such a pricey service.
