This app will really make you love your personal music collection again. It did for me. Design, navigation and features are 5 stars. However, if like me you prefer to download your music files to your idevice for offline listening, the app sooner or later will inexplicably crash and will fail to launch. Only recourse is to reinstall and you would need to re download your music files. Not a major inconvenience if you have a small library but a complete waste of time for big ones. Plus you lose your music if you're not at home. Also, I loved the smart playlist "top rated" however for some reason if doesn't sync very well with your idevice when you download it. Will consider going back to this app once these issues are resolved. Update: Version 4.4 was great zero crashes so far. App is now usable if you download your music to your iOS device. However your favorites playlist still doesn’t consistently sync with your iOS device. Many thanks for addressing the fatal crashing issue. Hope you continue to show more love to offline users like adding sorting and search options for offline content.

A lot of its features accommodated most of my music needs. I even got a lifetime of subscription of Plex Pass (which also fulfilled my media needs) because it’s really good!

Running your own Plexamp server is super easy and the accompanying app makes it a great experience with or without PlexPass.

Giving it a 3 because the childish settings descriptions. Makes the app feel less serious. Sorry.

This app would be a 5/5 for me if it would remember repeat settings, have better Carplay support, and actually behave with the RELEASETYPE metadata tags in files (I cannot get compilations to tag properly at all, but soundtracks do tag properly.) It (sometimes) defaults to no repeat, and Carplay will not play songs that I ask for if there is a # in the title of the track. Like, for example, Madonna’s “4 Minutes”. Otherwise, amazingly fantastic app. I can’t wait for it to grow and adapt over time.

I am a classical music and soundtrack snob with a vast collection of over 4 TB. Apple has never done a good job of understanding the nuances of tagging and organizing classical music. I have invested over 25 years in my digital library, and Plexamp is the first music player that has allowed me to stream my own library anywhere in the world, the way that I have it and like it to be organized. If there is one criticism of this app, whether the free or pro version, some unwanted features that cannot turn off or made otherwise invisible. A small quibble or some amazing software that does what Apple Music does not.
