I have the new Sensibo and it is fantastic, but in the geolocation it shows my position as if I lived in London and it is not possible to change. I would give it 5 stars if it were not for this bug, since I do not live there.
the device itself is fine, but the app is cumbersome and irritating to use. i spent $150 on the sensibo (really just an infrared transmitter) so i find it ridiculous that most simple software features are locked behind a subscription paywall. and homekit integration is disappointingly sparse, it displays as a thermostat and not an air conditioner, so misses things like fan mode, fan speed, and swing/louvre controls.
I am going to delete this app as it keeps telling me to set my location to "Always" I DO NOT like being told what to do by an app. I DO NOT WANT TO set my location to always. My location is my concern.
This app requires location, local network, Bluetooth and more. The device shouldn’t need internet access to work but it does. Horrible company
I was pretty happy with the basic features for the Sensibo Air Pro available in the free app, and like everyone else declined a subscription because the hardware is expensive enough. But now, after purchasing Sensibo air purifiers, Pure Boost is suddenly turned ON for the Sensibo Air Pro (ironically not the air purifiers) and I cannot disable it without a subscription. It wasn’t like that before? Is there some feature that got activated when I added more products to HomeKit? This is beyond frustrating especially since it determines there is poor air quality when every other sensor in the house has a good air quality reading.
Very basic controls supplied in the app. If you want ability to access any of the so called smart AC controls you need a yearly subscription. You can even access basic widget on your home screen without a subscription. Useless money grab!
Servers appear to be based in Ireland. From Australia it can take several seconds for changes to go through and every so often the servers appear to be overloaded and requests do not through at all. This can go on for days to weeks at a time and I’ve wasted hours diagnosing it. They could fix this by easily by allowing local network control but choose not to.
Get ready for the ACCC or lawsuits to get involved as their product BOX states AI features are included and makes no mention of an additional subscription to use them. They are in breach of consumer law, and setting themselves up for class action settlement.
The sensor and controller are excellent but the experience is dampened by an app that you have to pay more for half the features, many of which are arbitrary as they don’t appear to cost more to run. Most frustratingly, they have done nothing to improve climate react in over two years. You can’t set multiple thresholds or have different triggers. For example, I want dry mode to turn on for a humidity trigger but off when it becomes too cold. Apparently letting me do that has never occurred to the developer even when I pay a subscription.
