Seems ok but everything is paid
Good and simple interface.
Can scan various barcodes and QRcodes, and retrieve item description/name from internet if there is a public domain database out there; eg book barcodes will return title etc.
Can add one extra data field in trial mode.
Pity it will cost money to see what other data fields are available and what functionality exists.
Needs Offline mode
Completely useless for any kind of offline application, requires online account to even function.
Great Inventory App if it wasn’t so glitchy
This is one of the best apps for ease of adding stock, moving things around etc. BUT! It takes too long to sync and save every time you make a change and when used on an IOS device it is very glitchy when scrolling through items.
I persist with it because everything else is so good, but value for money is decreasing by the month whilst these issues ar3 left unresolved.
Useless to the point of being a scam…
I’ve subscribed to Sortly years ago when it was supposed to be the best App to inventory your home and your collections.
They changed the App while I had major spinal spinal surgery and a prosthetic implanted into my spine. First being in agony and bedridden, then an 8h surgery, then rehab … Sortly was least of my concerns. But having laid for an annual subscription in advance, I shouldn’t have had to keep tabs on Sortly!
But for reasons beyond me they didn’t keep a backup copy. So when after a few months I got back to it, I had irretrievably *LOST* all my databases in their entirety. I contacted customer support, and they confirmed all the data was lost for good. The person then suggested it had been my fault for daring to not check my Sortly emails for a couple of months.
Yeah, silly me: I had assumed that paying for a subscription they wouldn’t toss out my data less than six months into an annual subscription … apparently I paid Sortly, but still *I* was supposed to back up my data to protect myself from *THEM* intentionally tossing my data. The person who conveyed to me “… your fault, we sent notification emails a few weeks apart advising you of a date by which you were supposed to do one of the things you pay subscription for… “, ie creating a backup, was incredibly rude and did not manage to even say “Sorry you lost all of your data”. But they over and over again elaborated on blaming *ME* by emphasising how none of their other users had experienced complete loss. Sure, I really hope nobody else suffered crippling spinal damage!
In hindsight, I shouldn’t have given them another chance, but some time had passed I started a database of my yarn, crafting supplies, and needlework patterns. I recently acquired a big house, and unpacking would be the perfect time to take stock. I am an avid crafter and I have *LOTS* … and it had always annoyed me when I walked past a yarn special and was wondering if that was the exact colour I needed more of! And over the decades I have accumulated loads of beads and buttons, because I never can remember whether I have exactly those and where, so I grab another couple of dozen … oh, and all the fabric bits I have, and I never know how much I have left!
Inventorying seemed like a great idea.
So I put thought into how I wanted to set up my databases. Setting it all up right took me well over a month.
Then I had to move house again and didn’t get around to actually adding items for over a year. But t
Can’t trial
Why could I not trial . Disappointed
Good but a bit clunky
Good overall but not perfect. The interface is alright but could be faster and easier to work with. It is a tool after all. And the camera doesn't allow you to take photos with the button on the side of the phone. You can’t adjust focus or adjust colors like the normal photo app. I usually photo the object and the receipt, but there is no receipt scanner so I have to switch between apps. Would be good if a simple document scanner was embedded.
The web interface is worse. The web interface is like it is made for mobile and not desktop and is just slow to work with mouse and keyboard. It is like navigating an mobile app with a mouse.
Requires an “account”
Ant use this inventory without signing up for some kind of “account”. Why? What is it for? iPhone not powerful enough for a simple database app?
Average product
Over priced and no service
Powerful inventory tool with outstanding support
I use and depend on Sortly everyday. This is the best supported app I know and well worth the subscription. Highly recommended to anyone who needs to catalogue data and/or photos. The support on this app is second to none.
