Sortly: Inventory Simplified

Like many other reviewers, I started with a low cost of about $600. Now, two years later, they’re asking for nearly $6,000, that’s a 900% increase! They are unhelpful and don’t seem to care. They are hard to work with, and I regret my choice. Now I have to redo two years of work with another company. We are already working to create an alternative system with other frustrated clients like us so we don't get caught up again like this. Any more info please feel free to contact me.

I’m not one to write negative reviews, but I warn users that this is a ruthless business and I strongly suggest you avoid this app. We are a small wildlife charity and they wouldn’t sponsor us but gave us a discount, charging a few hundred dollars a year (a lot for us but we agreed). We used the software, which had so many problems that we were constantly dealing with tech support. Then, close to the point of giving up, we hit a warning that we’d done 2000 transactions or something, and the company wrote to demand over $700 from us, or we’d have to stop using it. We stopped using it and told them clearly that we couldn’t afford any more than the $300 they were already charging us. This was clearly conveyed in email exchanges. The app is clever, it won’t let you downgrade to the free plan if you have more transactions than the free plan allows. Next we discovered that they tried to take $1,400+ from my card! Sortly has the potential to be a good app, but has many issues. The worst of them seems to be that its used as a scheme to rope people in, wait for them to rely on the software and hit the 2000 limit, then hit them with huge bills, or threaten to cut them off. My advice is to avoid at all costs!!!

This was a five star review until the last update when the camera will not zoom in on items being catalogued correctly , I have used this for years and had no issues , this was in my opinion the only way to view my collection properly , put the camera back the way it used to be and this would be a 10 star review !

It is unable to show the critical basics of stock control like: 1. ‘SHOW STOCK TO ORDER’ (Sortly can give a low stock warning, but it can not show you how many of the items you need to order!) 2. ‘SHOW COST OF ITEMS TO ORDER’ (Sortly has all the variables but can not multiply the value with the number of items needed to give a ‘cost of items’ to order). If you only have one or two items, that’s fine, but if you have hundreds - as we have - it’s impractical. 3. ‘SHOW TOTAL COST OF ALL STOCK TO ORDER’ (Sortly can export reports to a spreadsheet but the spreadsheet does not show the key info (number of items to order, cost of items to order, total cost of order) forcing managers to rework the spreadsheet and start using formulas, which Sortly was supposed to replace! The staff we want to put this in the hands of can not use spreadsheets and formulas, but they can operate Sortly… So close and yet so far! 4. ‘SET ORDER ALARM’. It’s conventional to need to make an order BEFORE you run out of, or reach the minimum stock, of an item. For example, we need 1500 litres of fuel each month, and the minimum stock level is 200 litres, but we need an alarm at around 500 litres to tell us when we need to order more. Sadly, Sortly will only let you set an alarm for the minimum stock level. SUMMARY: until these basic features are added, users will still have to use a PC and Excel or other stock control software, which Sortly has the potential to replace.

I'm a big collector of Antique and Vintage things, and this app fits like a glove for what I do! I can keep a clear record of my collection including pictures of each and its value! Congratulations to the developer who keeps it 100% functional with regular updates!

Needed a way to inventory my stuff before I move home. Was recommended this. Costs £500 a year. And you get multiple spammy emails within hours of creating an account.

I absolutely love this app and have been using it for around 5 years. I have a huge house and big family and use it mainly for where things are stored. I also keep a record of things I give/throw away as my memory isn’t that good. Although I don’t use it a lot when I need to find something it’s invaluable. I like the fact you can take photos of the item, the cupboard, the shelf even !! As many sub categories as you could need

I download loads of apps and deleted them before finding Sortly as they just weren’t providing what I wanted. Sortly hasn’t ticked all the boxes in terms of requirements but most features are great, love the way details of folders can be exported, very handy!

Sorry to write such a negative review and I rarely do it, but it just locks up on all my iOS devices. I can’t even get past the opening screens. Much more annoying is the absolute outpouring of emails I’ve received in 24 hours from different people at ‘@sortly’’ . Very aggravating.
