Speakly: Learn Languages Fast

Last year i purchased a premium subscription. In the beginning I had some problems which were resolved, but since i am trying to use it on IOS system, this app is a nightmare. There is a certain type of task, after the app asks how difficult the task was, which does not work, does not let me answer as tapping on the chosen answer and can not continue and step forward with the exercises. Support is keep promising that they are working on the problem, but instead of that they gave me another language to practice… how if i can not continue if that certain type of exercise shows up again and again? They even told me to use the desktop version then, but there the microphone option, so the verbal exercises do not work, therefore I am not able to use this app’s full potential with my premium subscription.

The concept is great, i am actually learning but the app is pretty bad tbh. Crashes often, weird glitches where you can’t see words. Many bugs should be fixed.

I realized that most language learning applications are better in some aspects and lacking in others when you compare them. I was trying a bunch of different ones to see which works for me the best and settle on a few that complement each other well. There are several applications with speaking exercises, but they didn't really provide meaningful feedback. So, when I stumbled upon Speakly, I was pleasantly surprised. During the speaking exercises it marks the words it thinks you pronounced incorrectly, gives you a couple attempts to get it right before moving on. Also, the way it gives you some clues about the sentence by revealing the first letter of each word and the length of the word with a number of dotted blanks is a nice touch (you can optionally reveal more letters if you like). It does not stop there though, the interface is tastefully done, the repetitions are spaced out cleverly, the situational and listening exercises are also nice additions when you want to mix things up a bit. I can highly recommend giving it a try!

I am happy that you guys developed something like this. I am now at the beginner level and hoping to go ahead fast to the intermediate level. Light design, easy to use and most important - producing fast and lasting results!

I installed reinstalled app, restarted app and it just stuck on start screen after logging in with google account. I pad for one year and this app doesn’t work for 4 days now.

App is too slow and crashes too often

I think this is the best foreign language learning app but unfortunately at some point human voices are replaced with very bad robot voices. I regret buying the lifetime package because this ruins the whole learning experience.

Hey Speakly team Here is useful feedback if you need one. The app is crushing once in a wile for some reason , and i have this problem only with Speakly. Also there is a strange situation on main page where I can’t scroll down to choose a exercise, and the scroll area appears to be only 20% area in the top of the screen. And in tests if I try to type with slides the input field sticks and the only way to fix is reloading the app. In the audio exercise if you skip all the recording to the end it counts like a full exercise, looks like an cheat way to keep the day streak. Apart of that - really nice app. Thank you.
