Idea is great - App horrible
I like substack and I read and follow many creators, however apps user experience is horrible. Besides unclear navigation and hidden features the most annoying thing is that during onboarding I followed bunch of random people and now cannot find followers list to unfollow.
Disappointed
Substack team is not interested to help its users. My user experience is bad. I wanted to stop payments for subscribed author, so I have cancelled it right after monthly payment. Right after cancellation I lost ability to read subscribed author texts. Although I should have a possibility to read them whole month, because I have paid! Substack team promised me that they will solve the problem, but actually didn't! So be careful! If you want to cancel subscription, do it at the end of the billing period.
Audio integration missing
glad about the platform cause it gives a possibility for the creators to earn for the content they make (won't enter into the topic of how much it costs to them) but 2 critical features are missing: - Integration of the audio part with related controls (like audible, for example) - navigation within content of an author.

Great content with awful nagging app
So many great authors on substack. Too bad the app developers have chosen to make it a giant tool for annoying email spam notifications OR nag you constantly in the app for notifications. I don’t want my attention stolen and diverted like this - respect that. Stop popping up requesting I turn on notifications. It’s gross and annoying and there’s no way to turn it off. It’s completely antithetical to what they preach as a business.
Substack still freezes when…
When adding a new subscription, this app freezes on iPhone, necessitating offloading and reinstalling every time.
Up to date, honest news
With so much censorship of digital media, it’s nice to know I can get my news from an honest source. Thank you for your time.
Feed
I don’t like how the feed doesn’t show new stories within hours. They’re days old news.
