Lock and app faulty. Nothing but problems.

Great quality hardware and works well with Alexa and the Switchbot app. Good quality at a quarter if the price and easy to use for the novice DIY home automation guy with a bit of IT skills.

I noticed that auto lock does not work when i open the door via 1. Key 2. Apple watch It opens but upon closing the door, the auto lock does not work. Not sure if it’s a known issue or something wrong in my configuration.

This app is slow and does not work very well with the SwitchBot cams. The app needs to load faster and give quicker access to events that the cameras capture.

SwitchBot is an amazing app for controlling appliances, opening curtains, checking the temperature in different rooms and outside, and all SwitchBot devices. It works without fail…. Brilliant!!

Fails to connect any device

Great app and fantastic ecosystem, but one piece of (admittedly fairly niche) functionality I think the app needs is the ability for Siri Shortcuts to trigger bots without a hub. Normally I understand the need for cloud services but I have a couple of Bots that live outside my home network I trigger in the app via Bluetooth. I can’t logically see any logical reason the devs couldn’t expose the app to do “local” triggering of connected devices via personal Siri Shortcuts. Would massively improve functionality for me.

For me this app could make it to 5 stars and I’d recommend the product to friends if it had this one missing feature. The switch not switch needs a count for whether the switch is on or off. Now I know the device technically doesn’t know if it’s on or off, but if you could select an on or off setting to begin with and then every switch press that occurs after alternates. I got the switch bot for comfort and being lazy. I use it to simply push the air conditioner on button to turn my aircon on or off. However in order to see whether the air con is on or off I need to actually get up which defeats the purpose. It’s mainly become an issue because my partner and I both have the app and when away from the house at the same but separated. I cannot see whether she has turned the aircon on so we arrive at a cool house etc. If a status bar was added to your app, to show whether the count for the switch was at ‘on’ or ‘off’ you’d get my 5 stars. And if it’s added I’m happy to amend my review.

Great idea but the app needs work. It’s very buggy. Login issues, issues with devices disappearing and shortcuts don’t work on iPhone.

Created an account months ago for my new SwitchBot devices. Got an new iphone and tried to log into the app with my existing account, it failed stating “email account doesn’t exist”, which is bananas. Tried to sign up with a new account and it states “email account already exists”. Another rotten banana. My SwitchBot devices are now completely useless and not responding on my Homekit (+ HomeBridge). The offical Support pages don’t seem to bring much help either. Lots of rotten banana’s for SwitchBot. EDIT: I’ve emailed the company as requested but have received no reply - it’s been 3 weeks and I’ve sent 4 support tickets. Horrible customer service. EDIT 2: Account has been resurrected after being told technicians looked at my account. I now have access. Good recovery by SwitchBot and the customer service by Gilde. Thank you.
