SwitchBot

I recently bought the video doorbell to replace an old Ring doorbell as I liked the idea of having the internal display. Performance of the doorbell was pretty slow on my Eero Pro 6E mesh network, so I thought I’d take the opportunity to upgrade my network as Black Friday deals are on and so I bought an Eero 7 Pro mesh to hopefully improve the connection to the doorbell…how wrong I was 😣. Doorbell says it’s online in the app but the video never loads, not only that, other SwitchBot devices are now dropping off of the network (air purifiers) when this never happened before. Note - SwitchBot is the only brand that appears to be having problems with my new network, as everything else is working just fine. I’ve decided to give up on the foretell and have now ordered another Ring Pro as the SwitchBot one is of no use at all.

Maps of what has been cleaned in the app have been broken for ages. Have to go into cleaning reports to see what has actually been cleaned

No widgets for added third party devices. Sometimes the buttons don't work and it just says "missing IR signal". Support centre uses AI bots to respond to queries

Please, for the love of God, get rid of the robot tips. Everywhere. Just when you want to use the app. Get out of the way! It makes a really bad first impression on what might turn out to be a useful app.

The app barely works it’s impossible to use, I have to revert to using 3rd party interfaces but they haven’t appeared to sync schedules reliably.

Every time I open the app I have to add the switch bot again. The app used to save it but after updates no longer saves the setup. Faster to get up and manually use the switch it’s supposed to be controlling.

I’ve found a lot of uses for the switch bot: I use it to turn dawn to dusk outdoor lights off in the middle of the night when they are not needed and I use it to make special led ses lights into more or less dawn to dusk lights as I couldn’t get led ses in the shape required dawn to dusk . Unfortunately I can’t get it to actually work dawn to dusk I have to change the time with the seasons which is a bit of a pest! I also use one to switch the printer on remotely so it doesn’t have to stay switched on constantly.

I use this to keep an eye on the temps and humidity in my tortoise house.

500MB app to operate a single switch. No thanks.

Have had enough of titles being put across videos etc. telling me I am not subscribed. I know, I am aware. Stop ruining the app. Wish I had purchased different smart system.
