Twilio Authy

One day this app will effectively lock you out of your 2FA keys. First of all, they don't allow you to export your secret keys to migrate to another app! Then you need to have one of the latest iPhones or Androids to access your passcodes – if you don't, you're out of luck! In recent years they have removed all desktop apps and browser extensions – you can't use any of these apps/extensions even if you have a backup! They even removed the option to install Authy for iOS/iPad on Mac Silicon! (WHY?! WTH?) I tried to install Authy on my old iPhone 7 Plus (which I mostly use as a travel camera) but Authy refused to log in – it said this device is not secure enough! I managed to recover my secret keys using Authy for iOS, my hacking skills and how-to guides from Reddit. But this is outrageous! I had to spend my time recovering my 2FA secret keys from Authy in order to migrate to Ente Auth, which I highly recommend as a replacement for this ridiculous app!

If you want to loose access to all of your accounts and get them completely locked. Use Authy. This is the worst 2FA app so far. They have leaked data and now trying to prevent it locked out people from using the apps on devices. I am completely unable to access my 2FA enabled sites due to this garbage application. Please consider other alternatives if you do not want the same happening to you as well

Really good 2fa app

bad choice, it was a great app, like a backup if you lose your phone.

This app gives NO options to even change your backup password. I had important things and I ant get them back. Should be illegal not to give the option or have any servers that save this info.

The entire web world are working very hard to bring dark theme to their portfolio. But then, here is Authy that used to have a perfectly and wonderfully working dark theme; but then completely remove it from their new update. What are you guys smoking?!?

i’ve been using this app for many years and have never been disappointed. Even if there’s an issue when you get a new phone if you reach out to the company, they will help you out as long as you can verify you are the account holder.

Left three support tickets since there’s no 1-800 number AT ALL that’s available to call. No answer in a month. Can’t get into my portal to pay my rent because of their terrible service.

Twilio seems to keep this app on life support but has not bothered to update it as iOS progresses. I’ve lost my Today widgets and they never integrated with the systems OTP support. They also took away all ability to migrate away to another platform, so it looks like I’ll be logging into a lot of accounts to re-setup 2FA in the near future. Ridiculous.

I’ve been using Authy for 5+ years and was disappointed when they disabled the Desktop app. They prevent you from exporting your TOTP tokens to transfer to another service. Avoid Authy.
