Airmail Reviews

Bad at consent, bad at support, bad at premium features

silvermoon82 on

Keeps nagging to give contacts and calendar permission for Gmail account, even though i have contacts sync turned off and there is no reason to request calendar permission. No apparent means of support for non “pro” users. No indication which features are premium; when you select one the app hangs for several seconds then pops up a “subscribe to pro” dialogue.

It’s ok…

The block button does not work. Have been blocking emails for years and they still come through. Same with spam. It also doesn’t find emails in the search when you type the exact thing you want. I’ve been paying for years big pay look for something new as I hate that the block button doesn’t work.

Missing emails / unreliable.

Just found out a lot of emails didn’t come to app. Unreliable. They are on my Gmail web client though…. Not good.

Missing messages

Sheldon_W on

Canada

Yesterday, in one of my 365 accounts, I sent and received 5 separate emails. I have two questions / issues. 1) When I filed these five messages in my folder from my Outlook running on my desktop, I only see 4 of the messages when viewing the same folder from within Airmail. There is one message showing a “2” in a square box that I assume means two messages which I cannot separate or show individually. 2) Two of the 5 messages were sent with a modified subject line. The subject line when viewed from Airmail is not correct and a major problem.

It’s great but it never works

On my Mac the app is good, on my phone it’s a different story. If I click the “unread” icon it shows me all the unread (that’s good), BUT then I can’t return to any other screen from the unread messages menu. So I have to exit/close/restart the app WHICH NEVER WORKS… on restart it’s just a blank screen with the logo on it and no messages or icons or ability to navigate through the app… I DO NOT RECOMMEND! Also can’t raise any issues with the developer as their website doesn’t work when I try to submit issues.

Too many bugs

ViMaMiPri on

Too heavy app for any ipad. Slow, full of bugs, specially with external keyboards. The only thing that has made me keep it is the possibility of managing and creating labels in any kind of account other than gmail

ALREADY PAID, SHOUD NOT BE PAYING MORE TO USE AIRMAIL

Ringo Ringo on

[Update] Reading around on the Internet, it seems that this really comes down to if push notifications are considered as part of app's 'primary functionality' or a ‘side service’ as the developer claims. If the former, then it appears that this is in violation of Apple's App Store Review Guidelines. I strongly feel that push notification are considered as part of app's primary functionality because without them, this app is useless - what do others think? —————— Luckily, I saw the update description before updating Airmail. I think there are few issues here. 1) It is absolutely unethical for Airmail to do this; why do paid users have to pay more to get what they have already paid for!!?? 2) As a paid users, we should have the option not to upgrade (essentially, throwing away our paid version of Airmail if you “upgrade”) 3) Apple needs to add a feature in the iOS App Store to allow users to stay on a particular version of an app by locking, hiding, or by any other means. But the bottom line, the Airmail developer has made the wrong decision. I know when Navigon decided to start charging for map updates, the users just exploded with negative reviews and this made the company alter its decision ; so hopefully with enough unsatisfied voices, we could hope to see the same from the developer.

Live support not answer my question

VanGeoff on

Canada

When I try to get help from live support it gives me a link and not respond to my questions.

Terrible support, decent mail client

enelge on

Canada

Currently, there are several bugs that have been introduced into the app. “sending messages” message persists at the bottom of the screen, covering up some of the UI. The developer simply does not care about these issues that have been happening consistently for years. I hate to say that the app is still usable and overall works well.

Japanese language input not working

Papayamango123 on

When I want to send message in Japanese language it does not work. It duplicates letters. Lack of support
