Yes, Airmail is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
🤔 The Airmail app's quality is mixed. Some users are satisfied, while others report issues. Consider reading individual reviews for more context.

Very poor synchronisation between devices. When you ask for help, you don't get a response. I'm not recommend it!
I really like Airmail app! Just recently I got a problem after with the email sending on one of my email addresses after switching to new phone. Steven from support immediately reacted and worked to implement special modifications to fix an issue. They are really cool!
Yes, you have to pay for the Pro version but support is amazing and very fast. Every time I had an issue, the response was fast and to the point. Thanks to Steven from live support!
I bought the app when it was not yet free and now they want me to pay a subscription to keep the features that I paid for? I would understand if new features required a subscription, but not something as basic as push notifications! Very disappointed about the lack of care and respect they have for their existing customers and the utter absence of any kind of communication these changes were coming.
EDIT: I saw in the new release notes that push notifications are being restored to original purchasers so I'm withdrawing my 1 star rating. I'm annoyed that features I paid for were suddenly yanked away from me. I understand it's hard to make money on apps these days, however I strongly believe subscriptions should have been rolled out in a new version so as to not affect the people who believed we were paying a price for the features that would remain unlocked for the lifetime of this version.
Thanks for this, honestly. Bought an app a while ago because i was told it was awesome. It really was. Until this update. At least have some respect for the users that paid full price for an app. Switching to Outlook, on MacOS too.
Impressive mail app, it’s so smooth and fast that is my main working tool! And also the support is awesome especially Steven that helped me out with some settings “fine tuning” that made Airmail even beter. Recommend 100% 😀
I bought the desktop and mobile apps due to their recent Apple award. I have to say that I find it poorly executed. The idea is nice, if only it worked. It's a mail client, however I would. Not use it even if it was free. After spending 15 EURs for the packages it left a sour taste. Things that I like: - send delay, though even there there is no way to cancel delay easily, it's doable but still I don't understand why there is no prominent button to click if you want to cancel sending of the email - auto BCC works Things that are a deal breaker for me: - VIP list is poorly made, couldn't figure out how to make it logical, so alerts for VIPs that would spam over watch, iphone and desktop - search is really poor, couldn't find basic stuff, like mails from a recipient with only partial name. Apple mail has it's share a problems, but I have to revert to gmail search maybe once a month, with Airmail this is daily - followup reminders, the feature that won me over simply does not work! The idea of the follow up reminder for Airmail is to set it up and if no one responds to an email after certain period, it reminds you to follow up. Unfortunately the mail is put in a reminder list, from which you cannot move it out again. And even if you delete it, it's deleted completely, no more archive or anything else. So after a week, there is along list of expired emails that I cannot archive or move somewhere else. I thought it was a bug, but after interacting with support, they confirmed that that was case... with a responds “sorry...”, after asking if they plan to work on this, no response. - help is almost non existing - speed: it's far from fast and more importantly it quite often doesn’t sync up the messages in the background. So even unread indicator on the app is quite often off, and when you open the app, new mails are not there. Even worse, this behaviour is not consistent. I'm switching. This is not workable. For everyone else, I strongly recommend to get the test version from their site first, and make up your mind find. Spend a money on lunch or beer instead. Don't buy it until you're sure. I think Apple dropped the ball on this one. It's really misleading to get a reward to such half baked product.
1. "Smart" inbox not really as smart as, say, in Spark: emails won't get grouped by New Mail, Newsletters etc. as they do neatly in Spark 2. won't show the size of pic attachments you are sending 3. won't show attachment icons on mails that include inline pic attachments 4. I want an option to save all pic attachments to Photos at once, not just one by one, but that could possibly be an iOS limitation? 5. still missing a convenient floating "compose new mail" button in the right bottom corner of the screen; you have to reach far up for the small button
